Saturday: WHAT: Buffalo Springfield 7pm - 9pm -> Eminem 10pm ->12am Which: Mumford & Sons 5pm - 6:30pm -> The Strokes 6:30pm - 8pm LN: WHAT: The Black Keys 1am - 2:30am Which: String Cheese Incident 1am - 4am This: Chiddy Bang 12am - 12:45am -> Wiz Khalifa 1am - 2am -> Big Boi 2:30 ... That: Portugal The Man 12am - 1:30am -> Bassnectar 2am -... Other: Dr. John and The Meters 12am-1:30am -> Bootsy Collins 2am
i know insider said Black Keys would be preheadliner but that was before Ashley Capps tweeted about his big get the week before the lineup dropped. my guess is that that was Buffalo Springfield who i dont think will get latenight. all of the What Stage latenights have been in billed in the top 4. Kanye, Phish, Jay-Z, which is why i don't think MMJ will get it.

I think the Black Keys will be pre headlining Saturday. Theres really no reason to think they wouldnt be. They were latenight last year and a lot of people missed them due to Hall & Chromeo and the Flaming Lips. I think the point of bringing them back and putting them in this spot is to give people another chance to see them, putting them latenight just creates all those conflicts all over again. I think a comparable situation would be Phoenix latenight in 09 and then them getting a day set the next year

i agree. with my mock i just kinda switched mmj and black keys in where they are expected to be. mmj will probably just get latenight which stage again. black keys will preheadline but i just cant figure out where to put buffalo springfield which is why i thought i'd switch it up and put black keys at mainstage latenight. it just kinda seems like AC/S booked them last minute without really thinking where they'd go. (assuming AC's tweet is referring to Buffalo Springfield).
it just sucks cause i wont know the schedule till i get there thursday afternoon.
i'm doin an AT thru-hike this summer and taking a break for bonnaroo X. starting april 2nd i won't have access to a computer. not only will i not get the schedule but i wont see cafe adds and other possible additions.
WHAT: The Black Keys 1am - 2:30am Which: String Cheese Incident 1am - 4am
I'm still operating under the assumption that What/Which stages won't have overlapping late night sets. It seems like the only question is whether we'll get one of each (like 2010), 2 which late nights (like pre-2010, not counting Kanye) or 2 what late nights (which could be seen as the evolution of the schedule). Of course, they could switch it up.
Current projection for Sunday: (parentheses means not yet reported to be playing Sunday) (G.Love)/(Krauss)/Plant/WSP Junip/Amos Lee/EITS/I&W/(Strokes) (Rev. Peyton)/(Wanda)/Hornsby/Staples/Dr. John Smith Westerns/!!!/Neon Trees/Robyn/(Scissor Sisters) Head and Heart/Railroad Earth/Low Anthem/Bingham/(Loretta)

Deerhunter is the biggest indie band on the lineup (besides Arcade Fire)... they could close Thursday but I think they could also headline a tent or play the Which stage during the weekend. They're not huge by any means but they've been around a while and are pretty big by now. They already basically headlined a tent at Lollapalooza two years ago: 2009.lollapalooza.com/events/2009/08/09/
Was it this thread where someone said they spoke with Bradford Cox after a show and he said they were playing "when all the small bands play"? He could have been referring to a small stage, but it sounds like he was describing Thursday. Last year the biggest act on the lineup (The XX) that played Thursday was #48. I think Deerhunter is about a dozen spaces higher than that. However, with a few mid-tier additions, they could be much closer to last year's biggest Thursday act. I think they would make a LOT of sense on Thursday because they would be a nice alternative for the hipsters.

That'd work out pretty good, it'd be nice seeing them play a nighttime set.
But a nice alternative to the hipsters? To what? Sleigh Bells and Wavves? If all three are playing Thursday (not that they will) I anticipate some pretty awful conflicts.

I'm thinking Sleigh Bells and Wavves will play later in the weekend.
How about this for Thursday? TBA/Twin Shadow/SVIIB/Best Coast/Walkmen/Deerhunter (the "pitchfork stage") TBA/22-20s/Band of Skulls/J. Cole/Dam-Funk/Chiddy bang (the "party stage") Carll/Elson/Mayfield/Washburn/Etten/Atkins (the "singer-songwriter stage")

makes enough sense but I get the feeling Best Coast and Wavves will play back-to-back... both could definitely play sometime during the weekend or on Thursday though.
As far as Sleigh Bells goes I just hope they get a cool set at night time. Wouldn't be too surprised to see them holding down a 45-minute set to open a late night tent.

deerhunter Thursday night would be awesome, but I think Wavves or Sleigh Bells makes more sense for that spot, and I don't see all of the Indie acts conflicting.

A lot of mock schedules have MMJ>Arcade Fire performing the What Stage on Friday night. Since Arcade Fire is one of our three headliners, I think this is highly improbable. Seems more realistic to have Arcade Fire playing from 8-10, then have MMJ in the 11-2 slot.
I do have a feeling they're going to get the shaft this year, but many fans consider their last two Bonnaroo late nights their best shows ever. Since they've been headlining so many other festivals in the last year, I think they have the draw for a main stage late night. Can't see why Roo would purposely spoil a good thing.
