Yeah man, that album is something else. Definitely my second favorite after Sung Tongs. Banshee Beat gets me every time.
On the note of this EP, however, it's definitely worth listening to. The track by the Geologist is more or less a sound collage experiment, but a cool one. The other 3 are solid and Deakin and Panda Bears are pretty traditional sounding for a little EP. I figured they would go real weird with it since they probably don't get to do that as much these days, since they've blown the fuck up.

Haven't listened to it yet.. Anyone know where I could find it?
Also I figured I'd ask since it's AnCo related.. Have you guys listened to Tomboy yet? The whole album is finally out. Haven't heard it either but my friend sais its reallllly awesome. Last Night at the Jetty is my good mood song haha always makes me happy to listen to.

I really like it so far. It's a lot different than Person Pitch though, guitars/drone instead of samples/loops. Last half of the album is pretty amazing.
Listened to a few tracks on the subway today... definitely liking it, and really liking the cleaner feel of the singles. Last Night on the Jetty sounds incredible. Sonic Boom is great behind the boards, he produced MGMT's new album and, love it or hate it, it's got an incredible quality to it.
What an adorable picture! I love this haha. Proof that the nerds/weird kids in high school always win in the end.
Also.. the video posted above.. wow. There was a second where my ears just felt shocked from amazement. One of the reasons why they're one of my favorite bands is when I hear some of their stuff for the first time, or at their shows it literally just blows my freaking mind.

good stuff! i really want to get the prospect park tickets tomorrow but so far it's only me and a girlfriend and well.. brooklyn is not a good place at night for two chicks that don't even live in the city haha. when i went two years ago there was probably an hour of just trying to find my way out of the park thinking i was going to die.. pretty scary shit

true, but i also had my ex boyfriend with me. if he wasn't there i would've been toast! it's tough not knowing more people who like good music and going out to concerts. i've tried explaining what they're missing out on, but i guess it's hard to understand for some ???

Yea I understand, it gets to the point where you just have to go though or else you'll miss a lot of great shows. I went by myself last year to Coachella and Bonnaroo and had a great time at both. At Roo I met up with some people from this board who were all really nice, but at Coach I was by myself the entire time. It was one of the best and most positive experiences I've ever had.
You go to school? If it has a radio station try and just hang around there, if it's anything like mine you'll be able to find someone into the same bands you are, and maybe even find some kids who you can go to shows with down the line.

You're right. My friend and I started asking a bunch of random guys and we got two to agree to come with. Phewph! I would hate to miss out on that show. I definitely wouldn't mind going to shows and festivals on my own, it's just a safety issue. Being a girl alone in the city or at a music fest.. doesn't always turn out good. And yes, I go to school, but it's really small and don't talk to many people there. Next year I'll be in Chicago though, so I'll probably have much more luck and so many more opportunities for great live music. ;D
