There wont be anything this year, but at some point this fall, Matts mom and sister are going to come a place a marker at the tree. It wont be an identifing marker, just a plaque that says "Sugar Maple" or something like that. She will probably have something inscribed on the back of it, but that wont be visible.

I didn't know Matt or any one else here for that matter since this will be my first Roo and first year here on the board, but thanks for taking care of the tree and for the pics. You're indeed a good soul.
I'm guessin' they haven't started paintin' the arch and/or fountain yet. Roofan posted those picks that are maybe two weeks old. And I think I've read on here or somewheres that they don't paint the arch and fountain until maybe two weeks before the festival.

Ya know when the horrible event struck last year alot of ppl would have said ..hey this suckes and its sad and for the most part that would have been it, but then there is the inforoo community, you guys and gals are so kind and careing and that is what makes this place so great..... I just wish there could be more people out there like some of you kind folks!! See you all on the FARM this june and I cant wait to attend my first brunch!!!! Love-Peace-Bonnaroo

There will be a new design for the entrance this year. The wording of the contest makes me think it won't necessarily be an arch.
so the design as in paint or the design as in they are getting rid of the infamous roo arch? it would be cool if they had ten sections on each side of the original arch and each section be painted to represent each of the years its stood there and what transformations it has gone through, like on the bottom left for the first 3 feet or so paint it like it looked in 2004 then the next 3-4 ft paint it like 05 and so forth until its just a mismatched arch of roo history.
i was in the mall yesterday and i saw a pair of carpe diem's at journeys... made me a little sad, i still have a velvet bag to a 5th of crown royal he gave me. I keep it in a drawer with other little keep sakes
will there be a passing by the arch after the tree? i'm not sure where to find the tree but I KNOW i can find that arch!!! and are the kazoo's still part of the plan?
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

last year, the arch wasn't painted until 2 days before the gates underneath it opened. The fountain, on the other hand, was completely finished when I arrived at Roo. (about a week before gates opened)
I'll post pics again this year on my twitter when I arrive, the Sunday before roo.
There was one year (2008??) when they were painting the fountain on the first thursday of bonnaroo. It was lame as hell, white with black bugs in random spots.

Yes, we will parade past the arch to collect any lost souls.
I think it's BYOK. I haven't looked for one yet though.
When I worked at K-Mart, I had a couple bring back a box of straws because they were made in China and they thought they would gets SARS if they drank out of them.
