Hearing 'Rope' over and over and over on the radio, it wears on ya. Some of the other Wasting Light stuff I've seen them play on TV was, I dunno..seems like something I need to hear a few times before I write it off as garbage? Sucks so damn bad I am talking crap like this about one of my favorite bands ever.
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I can't say much more than that. Terribly samey on the one listen I gave it. I might not be a fan, but I have a massive respect for Grohl and their ability to write an arena ready, hooky single is undeniable. As best I can tell, there's none of that here.

Headed the way of Nickelback IMO. "White Limo" is god awful. "These Days" is going to be top 40. And you ain't lived until you've heard the "Rope Deadmau5 mix"

Seriously now..Foo Fighters are much above good ole boy nickelback bullshit. Sadly they're writing dull albums of basically filler tracks for a few solid songs, i.e. Echoes Silence Patience and Grace. Most would agree In Your Honor is sub par. However, Foo Fighters continue to add sone good songs to their catalog. 10 years from now or whatever there will be a hell of a lot to look back on.

I actually love it. I think it's their best record since One By One (thought In Your Honor was mediocre and Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace was s hit). I think Walk is one of the best songs they've ever written. Other favorites: Rope (didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me), These Days, and A Matter Of Time.
Anyone else get a copy with a piece of the original master tape in it? Was pretty stoked about that
