Jack White isn't big enough to headline, is he? I mean...he's headling Sasquatch and Hangout, but those are a little smaller. It's like if Paul Simon came to Roo or something. I'm just making sure that I have this right. Also, he's absolutely 100% confirmed in my book. He loves Roo, lives just down the road... it just has to happen.

I honestly think that Radiohead and Phish are the only "headliners" that are being actively discussed. The Beach Boys and RHCP will close the which on Saturday and Friday respectively, and Jack will be a pre-headliner on Sat. or Sunday. But I think that the Friday headliner will someone out of left field. (or the first of two Phish sets)

RHCP headlined Coachella 5 years ago. The 2012 vs 2002 argument doesn't hold. They are just as big in 2012 as they were in 2007. They will headline unless they do a LN What Stage act, as an almost headliner (like Jay Z) or unless they do a split HL (like Beasties/Byrne). If Phish gets a LN spot for a second show, then RHCP won't (they've never had 2 LN What shows in the same year since I started going in 07). I can't think of any other band who might play that's on RHCP's level of fame and would split HL duties with them. By process of fairly reasonable elimination, my money is that they will headling Friday night.
Not to mention they're going into the Hall of Fame this year. I mean, that means nothing to me, but I guess in the music industry it's cool or whatever.

Even 5 years ago, they were waaaaay bigger than they are now.

i agree. 5 years ago they were still somewhat riding the coat tails of Stadium Arcadium's success. This latest album was nowhere near as popular, regardless of how anyone feels about the quality of the music. Also the simple fact that they no longer have Frusciante makes them appeal less to a lot of people. That being said, I still feel like they'll probably headline though.
They were brought up a couple times a while ago, but we know the headliners now.
RHCP, Radiohead, Phish? Yea, I guess I just have my doubts that RHCP will be a top 3 headliner, I'd say they'll get weezers spot from 2010. This is just my speculation but it is however 2012, not 2002.
RHCP are selling out arenas across the country. They're pretty popular. They're a top 3.
Due to the fact that the lineup will drop, most likely, within the next couple of weeks, is it safe to assume that insider is done dropping headliners this year? I usually check in quite often around this time to see what news she has brought us, but this year it seems she has been visiting a little less frequently. Any ideas on this???

She gave us a lot very early, probably because we were already on the right track with it. She'll probably give us another hint soon, followed by a confirmation a handful of days before the lineup drops. I just want to know when the lineup is actually going to be released! If it's next Tuesday then we should be getting an email about it tomorrow, I would think.

in 2010 she posted on the day before lineup drop. last year she didn't start giving away info til February 4th. not sure if that means anything. to me, that makes it seem like she will come back once more to give us some info about the scheduling of the headliners and maybe one more prime time name. i wouldn't count on her showing up again though, mainly just cause it's more exciting when she does post if you're not expecting it
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Nothing is safe to assume with insider. There is no real rhyme or reason. No set rules on how many names we get.
I personally think she's done giving us stuff this year but that doesn't mean she won't stop by and give us a gift.
It's best not to think about it too much though. People take some things she says way to seriously like "SHE SAID SHE WOULD COME BACK AND GIVE US NAMES A WEEK AGO TODAY SO SHE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK TONIGHT".
I hope she pops back up. I'm getting eager for the lineup to drop as well. Hopefully the lineup comes out all at once like last year and not that insane band by band crap on myspace. That pissed me off to no end.
She's also told a lot less than normal, so I wouldn't be surprised to see insider back for a couple more this week. I mean last year she confirmed Plant, WSP, Black Keys, Eminem, AF and MMJ. This year she's done RHCP, Radiohead, and Phish. I can't remember how many she did in 2010, but I think it was more.
And I know it's been talked about, but I have a feeling we'll see either Neil Young or Paul Simon on Saturday night before Radiohead. Last year we got Black Keys and Buffalo Springfield on Saturday before Eminem, and in 2010 we had Stevie->Jay-Z so I'd fully expect a major Saturday act or two very big acts to also play Saturday.

I still think she's coming back in the next few days. Last year her last few appearances were Feb 4 and Feb 5 where she gave us time slots of a few acts and some smaller "headliners"- Robert Plant. If she doesn't come back then I will be scared that she has blown her cover and might not show up next year!
I predict she is coming back by Wednesday....if she does then someone has to make my awesome points get above 0 (I have no idea how those work).
I'm not really concerned with who will be there because I always have a great time and buy a ticket no matter what. The undercard is usually a much bigger draw for me than the headliners anyway. I just enjoy finding out who's playing ahead of the lineup drop.

She didn't really confirm Eminem I thought. That lineup sounds awesome to me, gramps. And I actually checked last years email, it came on Wednesday the 9th announcing the lineup to be released on Tuesday the 15th. So I'd hope for an email tomorrow or Wednesday
You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think the Chili Peppers aren't headlining.
Radiohead | Phish (Two Sets) | Red Hot Chili Peppers | Beach Boys | Jack White | Drake | Bon Iver | The Roots | The Avett Brothers | The Shins
Logical lineup that won't convince me to endure the farm this year
I just can't imagine being a big enough music fan where I've gone to Bonnaroo in the past and not being able to find at least a handful of these names exciting.
