Ok so I just kind of took last year's schedule and tried to piece it together for this year... insider has me pumped now...
Friday What: Bon Iver (MMJ Spot) > Radiohead (Arcade Fire Spot) Which: Foster The People (Ray Lamontagne Spot) > The Roots (Primus spot) > Drake Late Night (Lil Wayne Spot)
Saturday What: RHCP (Black Keys Spot) > ??????????? (Eminem Spot) Which: Avett Brothers (Mumford Spot) > Maybe Jack White? Beach Boys? (Buffalo Springfield Spot) > Umphrey’s McGee Late Night (SCI Spot)
Sunday: What: Steve Winwood (Plant spot) > Phish (Widespread Spot) Which: The Shins (The Strokes in 2011) Tents: Superjam? The Word? (Omar is gonna hate me because they don’t have a LN on this)
How confident do we feel about Jack White now that he's popping up at Sasquatch and Hangout? And who could be getting the saturday night which stage spot, cause it just wouldn't seem right to have him on any stage other than the What...
What Stage: Seun Kuti & Egypt 80>Ziggy Marley>Jack White (MMJ spot)>Radiohead (Arcade Fire spot) Which Stage: Civil Wars>Tedeschi & Trucks>Randy Newman>Herbie Hancock & his Band>Paul Simon (Primus spot)>Skrillex (Lil Wayne spot)
Saturday
What Stage: Tribal Seeds>Ben Folds Five>The Roots>Red Hot Chili Peppers (Black Keys spot)>Prince(Eminem spot) Which Stage: The Weeknd>Fitz & the Tantrums>Santigold>Foster the People>Bon Iver (Buffalo Springfield spot)>Drake (SCI spot)
Sunday
What Stage: Yonder>Weir, Robinson & Greene>Avett Brothers>Phish Which Stage: The Joy Formidable>Flogging Molly>Silversun Pickups>The Shins
Alright forgive me for potentially blaspheming inforoo's savior, but would Neil really get a HL spot over RHCP? I mean I know the guy is a legend, but to be honest I had barely heard of him before I came to this board. Buffalo f'ing Springfield didn't even headline last year and that was after a what...40 year reunion?
I know Neil is huge on these boards but i'm just not so sold that he would be a Saturday night headliner above Radiohead/RHCP/Phish. I'm thinking more along the lines of Prince/Bowie/Something random that isn't Macca/Daft Punk.

wait.. what??? seriously?
Seriously. I'd like to blame it on the fact that i'm younger (24) and was sheltered by crazy southern baptist parents for much of my young life...
So after reading through the last ten pages or so, the best news of the evening by far is that Phish will only have a Sunday show. Perfect time to pack/leave.

Are you questioning RHCP over Neil or the fact that he hadn't heard of Neil before inforoo?
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Wow. Please for the love of God (even your parent's God) listen to Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, After the Goldrush, and Tonight's the Night. Now. No seriously NOW
Did anybody expect Coachella to get Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg? No. I think Bonnaroo is about to surprise the hell out of everybody.
Bonnaroo always has a great surprise up its sleeve. I don't really have time to read the past few pages, but what is this Neil talk? My first thought on Insider's posts (I used the members link) was Dre and Snoop. That would be the top rap name we've been searching for.

So even though I'm one of the people that stresses on here not to get your hopes up in terms of expectations for the lineup, I'm having a hard time keeping them low right now. I think there's a few things to consider.
a.) As laggy pointed out, when she first dropped Radiohead and RHCP, she used the term "loosely" headliners. Well, we all know Radiohead will be a true headliner. So that means RHCP is "loosely" a headliner, meaning we need a TRUE headliner for Saturday. We can all agree The Beach Boys aren't true HL status and I don't think Paul Simon is either.
b.) If they're still finalizing the act, why would it take them this long to sign Paul Simon or The Beach Boys? Paul Simon has been doing shows since last year and The Beach Boys have had their tour planned out for months.
c.) I don't think we can rule out the possibility of 2 Phish shows yet. If they aren't able to land whoever this 4th name is then I'm sure their fallback plan is giving Phish another LN.
But still, just from the way she worded her posts I really feel like we're getting something big. Something bigger than Paul Simon or The Beach Boys. I doubt it's someone as big as McCartney but it really feels like we're getting something along the lines of Prince, Rage Against the Machine or Neil Young & Crazy Horse. Pipe dreams being Daft Punk or OutKast. Im really not trying to get myself too hyped up for this but it just really sounds like it

Don't sweat it. I didn't get into Neil until I was around your age (maybe a little younger). The thing about Neil is he is greatly beloved (rightfully so) by a certain portion of the Bonnaroo going crowd (mainly the vets). So if you come on this board and admit what you admitted, you're going to take some flack over it. Just go listen to his classic albums, get caught up, and you won't have to feel alienated.

Any reason no one has mentioned the biggest band in rock who are supposedly planning a huge 50th anniversary tour? Crazier things could happen.
I also don't see any reason daft punk wouldn't be considered not so current... Sure they aren't old and wrinkly, but they definitely haven't put out a full album in quite some time and haven't done too much touring
