I still think they are (or were) trying to get that last act/acts signed before they announced. They most likely didn't have the details worked out and wanted to give themselves some wiggle room in case it took into the early week.
Plus Macca was busy with the Grammy's and they couldn't figure out the details until today......

I truly believe that artists like Macca don't know where the hell they are playing. They have people. They are just informed of where they are supposed to be.

Haha I agree. It's not like Paul is sitting their in the negotiations, with Ashley Capps. Hopefully his agent was busy with the Grammy's too!

I spoke with James Lynch of Dropkick Murphys and they said their touring schedule often led to them feeling like that. The days would all sort of blend together, and they don't choose cities or venues, that all gets chosen for them. He said it was common for "what city are we in right now?" to be asked.

I know when I was booking bands I rarely ever spoke to the artists themselves (and this was like a million times below the level of these mega artists). You feel almost bad for them.
If you've never seen Get In The Van ( A documentary about The Minutemen), I fully suggest you do that. It's heartbreaking at times being on the road.

While y'all were watching the Grammy's, I was getting my rocks off with the Polyphonic Spree at the Bottletree. Fun, fun, fun! Too bad they're not on the latest, greatest fake/real liineup poster.
i was there too bro! they brought it down didn't they!! i didn't realize they hadn't toured in 4 years....yea, Polyphonic Spree last night & MMW Friday night - it was like Roo 2003 all over again this weekend.....

Awww those poor guys. It must be so tough being a rockstar, I applaud their bravery and valor.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
If we could only get one of the following artists to round out this year's line-up, which would be your preference (?) 1. Paul McCartney 2. Prince 3. Neil Young and Crazy Horse 4. The Beach Boys 5. Foo Fighters (feat. Deadmou5) All opinions honored.
I'd go for Paul McCartney. Unless At the Drive-In was an option. . .

Adele should be back in a pre-headliner spot! Anyone else here see her years ago when she was in The Other Tent & barely had enough material to sing a 45 minute set? I didn't know anything about her & just wandered up because there wasn't anything else I was interested in seeing at that time. When she sang Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love' i was amazed....and now she's the biggest name in music. She needs to come back to the Farm!!

It was a really beautiful set and not nearly enough people were there. She was one of my highlights that year. That said it's crazy to me that her tickets for the Chicago show were scalping at 300+ a ticket.
