1. My Morning Jacket- Anytime, anywhere they are my favorite. All the new songs were great live. I enjoyed "Slow Slow Tune" from space with Elvis and Syd Barrett without no-nos' (well none for me, I can't speak for them). It went so fast, I was euphoric and also kinda sad when it ended.
2. Shpongle- Bassnectar Appetizer served with a Shpongle Sandwich on Pretty Lights Bread muy delicioso late-night treat! Shpongle, however, goes down on my all-time best list
3. Ray Lamontagne- I put my parents on to him, he's now a family fav. So the "Mama Tried" cover was a nice touch. "Comfortably Numb" while leaving to go to MMJ was awesome too.
4. STS9- I almost tapped before dawn. Then my compadre reminded me it was our last chance to dance in the glorious sunrise of Centeroo, problem solved. A great moment indeed. I may have this set underated.
5. Mumford & Sons- Amazing Grace! They were having so much fun with that huge crowd! Judging by the smiles around me the crowd was too.
Honorable Mention: the other 30 or so sets that I saw this weekend. PERFECTAROO!!!
"A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there." -Cormac McCarthy
1. The Strokes - Huge fan and got pretty close. The set was short, but the crowd I was part of (minus a few jerks) was great and I had a great time.
2. The Black Keys - Again with another short set, but just nonstop fun the whole time. Really disappointed they only went a little over an hour, and it seemed they were setting up an encore, but it never came.
3. The Decemberists - My only What stage pit show, and extremely happy I got in for it. Colin challenging Bela Fleck to a pick-off was great, and the whole set was just solid. Jenny was missed, but Sara Watkins was great in all the roles she had to play. She also killed it on Won't Want for Love.
4. Arcade Fire - Loved their set, hard to put them down here at 4, but just had more fun at the other sets. Wished they could have gone longer.
5. MMJ - honestly, I could never really get into their albums. I tried and tried and tried after seeing them in 2008, but never could. Saw them again this year and loved their set again. I think it sucks that I could never really get into their recordings, but I will make every effort to again, and I will never miss them live when they come around my area.
Honorable Mentions - Amos Lee (fun little set), Iron & Wine (like the way he jazzed up some old favorites), Girl Talk (first time, lots of fun), Mumford & Sons (at least what I could hear from the Cinema Tent, love them and it sucked to miss them, but I've seen them 5 times before and I will see them again)
1. Arcade Fire - Really amazing. There's no words to describe 80,000 people singing Wake Up 2. The Head and The Heart - Charity is my new biggest crush. Great set. 3. Band Of Skulls - This might be the sexiest band of all time. Had the audience's attention the entire time. 4. Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears - Had the whole crowd jumping up and down at noon. 5. Buffalo Springfield - It took a couple songs, but once they hit their stride, they were golden.'
Honorable Mentions - Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine, The Strokes, Gogol Bordello, Ben Sollee, Justin Townes Earl, and Hayes Carll.

1. MMJ. Yup 2. Deerhunter. Ended up really close because I was already there for The Walkmen. Little Kids through Octet might've been my favorite stretch of the festival. It's at least up there with the last half of MMJ. 3. The Strokes. Partially because it was my first time seeing them and will probably be the only time I get to, partially nostalgia, and partially because I was 30 feet from the stage, but it was so goddamn fun. The crowd around me was just loving it every second. No "I Can't Win" or "The Modern Age" kind of sucked, though. 4. Arcade Fire. My favorite band, but had seen them multiple times so it just wasn't quite as special as some other shows I saw over the weekend. 5. The Walkmen. Was expecting to like them, but they were realllly good. It's crazy how long Hamilton can hold a note.
HM: Decemberists, Black Keys (too short of a set), Buffalo Springfield (sound sucked, but partially my fault for getting there too late to get a great spot), Big Boi (too tired to fully enjoy it), and Junip (really liked it more than I would've expected.)

no order
!!! ratatat (some of the coolest visuals i've seen) black angels (drenched in sonic bliss, so cool) dr john/ either set arcade fire (i echo everyone, this was fckin aweosme)
1. MMJ - I am one of the few who was under-whelmed by their 2008 set, so didn't have too high of expectations for this year. Needless to say, they blew them all out of the water and I'll be picking up their new album soon. 2. Robert Plant and the Band of Joy - In the pit for a legend. He just looks like he is having such a great time on stage and enjoys listening to the other musicians he's working with. 3. Band of Skulls - Completely surprised by them and the amount of energy the crowd had. 4. Graveyard - Another band I was not expecting to be as good as they were. 5. Widespread Panic - Perfect way to close out the festival.
Honorable Mentions - Gogol Bordello, Big Boi (both of these would have been on the list had we seen entire sets); Arcade Fire, Black Joe Lewis, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Graveyard- Great hard rock band from Sweden. They flew to the States just for Bonnaroo and stayed all weekend. They are like a mix of Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. Super tight performance.
Wavves- Snotty surf punk band from SD. Lots of fast short tunes and funny banter as well. Good Thursday band to kick things off.
Mavis Staples- Perfect timing for her set. Sunday 1:15 pm. She said 'Today is Sunday and this is the closest thing to church y'all are going to get'. Very upbeat and moving at the same time. She never preached but left no doubt that her God was real. Great time!
Deerhunter- Cool Atlanta band that has an ambient shoegazer/Sonic Youth-type sound. The stage was never quiet with all kinds of effects going even between songs. Their singer is a pretty unique looking guy as well.
The Sword- They always deliver live. Not quite as good as their set back in 08 but they still took a broom to That Tent. My neck is still sore from all the bangin'.
Mmj (made my first pit!!!) The head and the heart. I think I might be in love with someone other than my wife. Shit!!! Ray lamontagne (and I still somehow made the mmj pit!!!) Walk the moon Gogol bordello even though my back and ankles hurt so bad I could barely stand for more than the first half hour.

1. Arcade Fire (best show I've ever been to; got in the pit) 2. Jacket (also in the pit) 3. Buffalo Springfield (ALSO in the pit) 4. !!! 5. Robyn 6. The Strokes 7. Mavis Staples 8. J. Cole 9. The Walkmen 10. Dr. John
MC - how was the Sword? Any idea on a setlist, etc?
I don't know the setlist, but The Sword and Opeth were killer. It was fun to hear them back-to-back, too, because The Sword were KINDA heavy but a lot of fun and then Opeth were REALLY heavy and a lot of fun. It was interesting to hear that progression, makes you realize how different all the metal subgenres are.
