Big Boi Primus Bootsy
Those are definately my top three though I'm still pissed at Bootsy because he came out an hour and a half late. Screwed up my schedule for the evening. But once he came out....the show was awesome. And I'd have a hard time callin any sort've order on these three. Big Boi was so off tha hook and so much fun, Primus absolutely melted my brain, and Bootsy and his band(especially the guitarist) were amazing.
After these three...I don't know how i'd rank em. Saw a lotta good shows or partial shows. But I think my favorite other two would have to be Robert Plant and the Band of Joy and G.love and Special Sauce.

1. Arcade Fire - Such a great show with so much energy from the band and the crowd. Plus I was front row on the guard rail ;D
2. MMJ - I loved this show, the new songs sounded great live. Would have been my top show if the set were longer and if I hadn't been on the rail for Arcade Fire.
3. Black Angels - I saw both the Late Night show and the afternoon show in the Ford drive-in tent. Both shows did not disappoint, plus I got to talk to the guitarist after the drive-in show.
4. Graveyard - Wish the set was longer, but I loved every song they played. The singer gave me goosebumps during "The Siren", such an amazing voice.
5a. Band of Skulls - My favorite show on Thursday, wish they would have played "Cold Fame" though.
5b. !!! - They had everyone dancing, too bad alot of people missed this show.
5c. Omar Souleyman - People were going crazy during this show. Saw Ashley Capps and Eugene from Gogol enjoying this show as well. Funny story: About the middle of the set I noticed a guy dancing crazy behind us, I ended up realizing it was the lead singer from !!! And the next thing I know my girlfriend and two friends have a crazy dance party with him.
Honorable Mentions: Eminem, Lil Wayne, Wavves, Black Joe
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
1. The Decemberists 2. Explosions in the Sky 3. The Head and the Heart 4. MMJ 5. The Black Keys (would have been 2nd had their set been longer...why didn't they play the full 90 minutes?)
2. J.Roddy Watson and The Business (OMG!!!! Glad to see others there too!!!! I got my pic with J.Roddy Watson and will post it later!)
I searched for 30 minutes and even found others trying to find where J.Roddy was playing. I gave up after his set was halfway over. Glad other people out there are giving him attention. Such a great performer.
1. MMJ - Give them another 4 hr set 2. Gogol Bordello 3. Arcade Fire 4. Scissor Sisters 5. Ratatat

1- half of MMJ 2a- Black Keys (still can't believe they ended so early) 2b- Arcade Fire 4- String Cheese Incident 5- half of Primus (prob would have been EITS if I saw it all and wasn't hurting so bad)

1. Eminem (amazing especially with a live band behind him) 2. MMJ (also amazing great light show) 3. Wiz khalifa (awesome performer, biggest cloud over that crowd) 4. The Black Keys (blown away like always) 5. Atmosphere (wayyy too much dust blowing around at this tent but still loved atmosphere)
Wish i could say buffalo springfield, but like previously stated sound was bad
3. Primus (Great set but where was My Name is Mud?)
They didn't play it in 2004, either (and if there was ever a show for that to be played, the midnight mud-fest was it). I think they tend to shy away from playing it, since it's their biggest "hit." Kind of like Radiohead and "Creep." I could be wrong (I haven't looked at any setlists), but that's the vibe I got.
When they played it at Woodstock, people started pelting Les with mud and he had to basically insult the genitals of the men throwing the mud to get them to stop, maybe that did it for him...

My first 'Roo (from a 45 year old):
1) Mumford and Sons - w.o.w. 2) Widespread Panic - great sounds, great lights, great audience....very good vibes overall 3) Black Joe Lewis - so much fun energy; so much talent! 3) Robert Plant - just incredible; I loved the way he gave time to each of his band members as spotlights in their own songs. He sang back up. 4) Buffalo Springfield - great harmony; classic masters of music before technology made everyone sound like a rock star. Don't get me wrong, Neil Young is a master of great music, but I somehow felt he was showboating throughout the show.
Honorable Mentions: Warren Haynes, Gregg Allman, The Drums, Old Crow Medicine Show
1. Gogol Bordello (front and center for this amazing set) 2. Primus (helluva setlist and I got to hear/see Tommy the Cat ) 3. Black Keys (great set, but only 70 minutes guys? really?) 4. MMJ (first 45 minutes, left for Primus, got to see/hear Gideon ) 5. Ratatat (everything I thought it would be)
Honorable mention: Graveyard (sooo goood), Omar Souleyman, Band of Skulls, Beats Antique, Bela Fleck, Eminem
1. Buffalo Springfield 2. Gogol Bordello 3. MMJ 4. Arcade Fire 5. Loretta Lynn
The sound was OK for me at Buffalo Springfield ... but only because I got there early to line up and get in the pit. Normally I have to wear ear plugs, but I didn't even feel close to needing to do that on this occasion. Everything I watched there from afar was dismally low in volume. Old Crow and Alison Krauss fell really flat for me earlier in the day purely because of the sound, and I wasn't even that far back ... probably at the mixing desk range. I watched some of Bela Fleck simulcast inside the Sports bar and I swear it was louder than actually watching from where I was in the crowd.
1. Arcade Fire- everything i wanted and more 2. Scissor Sisters- arguably the most fun i've ever had at a show 3. Twin Shadow- very glad i broke away from my group to see this, awesome awesome show, almost made me forget I was missing The Walkmen 4. My Morning Jacket- it lived up to the hype 5. Matt and Kim- fun show, they know how to get an audience pumped up
1. Buffalo Springfield (I was in the pits so the sound was great) 2. Superjam (I can't believe people were disappointed with this. It was a rocking show) 3. Big Boi (I skipped Arcade Fire to get on the rail. Totally worth it as I can't stand Arcade Fire) 4. Eminem (He played all my favorite songs and more. I couldn't even tell he was lip syncing. I was on the rail behind the pits on the far left of the stage. After BS I literally ran over to What going through the arch exit and walking along the fence over to the left side of the stage where it wasn't crowded at all.) 5. Tie - Primus, Gogol Bordello, Dr. John and The Original Meters and Justin Townes Earle (I loved all these sets and can't choose just one for the 5th spot.)
I only saw three MMJ songs and they were pretty good. I couldn't get close enough to the stage to see anything so I left. They would probably be in the top 5 if I would have stayed.

You were on the rail for Big Boi? I bet that was epic! His show was so freakin awesome. The band was tight, the dancers, Big Boi's swagger onstage....all of it, amazing.
1. MMJ - Outside of the small sound issues at the start it was amazing. Been waiting to see them for a while now.
2. Childish Gambino - broke from my friends to see Twin Shadow first then CG and was completely blown away. If Em had his energy he would have brought the crowd to their knees.
3. Portugal. The Man - The Bass was a bit overwhelming but loved the setlist. Lots of older material.
4. Girl Talk - I know, I know...Such a party and a great way to close out a nonstop Saturday that started with...
5. Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears - A very unpretentious, hardworking rock show. You could tell most of the crowd stopped by on a whim and was blown away.
Honorable Mentions - Arcade Fire (pleasantly surprised), Decemberists (was in the pit, felt they lost something with Jenny Conley not there but still awesome), Deer Tick
Best Moment of the festival hands down - Buffalo Springfield killing it on Rockin In A Free World.
Did not see a single bad show...started with The Kopecky Family Band on the solar stage and ended with Iron & Wine.

1.) String Cheese Incident (I was so blown away by that show + with the giant balls, T-Rex, the light show, and string cheese pretending to rap and dance in their matching jump suits put the show over the top)
2.) My Morning Jacket (Victory Dance was the perfect intro and One Big Holiday was the perfect close.)
3.) Arcade Fire (I liked them OK until I saw the show. Now I'm a real fan. It was so fun singing Wake Up with everybody in the field.)
4.) Buffalo Springfield (shame on Which Stage for their bad sound quality for such a legendary show. Lucky for us we got there early for a good spot. I would have been pissed if I was in the back.)
5.) Beats Antique (2nd time I've seen them and they blew me away once again. These guys are about to be the next big thing for the electronic scene.)
Honarable Mentions: Band Of Skulls, !!!, Cold War Kids, Iron & Wine, Florence + The Machine, Black Uhuru, Graveyard, Gary Clark Jr., Walk The Moon, The Knux (almost everyone really.)
I wanted the superjam to be on the list so bad, but it was my biggest dissapointment. It should have been called Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band with a little help from Dan Auerbach. Then I would have known what to expect.

Keep in mind I wasn't around for the Sunday shows
1. Warren Haynes 2. NOFX (wonder what Big Mike would think about someone listing him right under someone from the "Osmond Brothers Band"?) 3. Devotchka 4. Primus 5. String Cheese
Honorable Mention to Black Keys, Lewis Black, Henry Rollins, Futurebirds, Band of Skulls, the end of Buffalo Springfield, Black Keys, and Miss Lolly Pop's Burlesque Coterie after I bailed on Eminem.

How about 10 favorites
MMJ Buffalo Springfield ( I was in the pit. The sound was great from there) Arcade Fire first set ofMeters/Dr John/Toussaint ( couldn't see anything, sounded great) Gregg Allman Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears first 45 minutes of Deer Tick and all of Gary Clark Jr Superjam ( I raged hard during " Big Chief") The Band of Heathens (very soulful Thursday night/Friday morning set) Justin Townes Earle
Favorite: Grace Potter & the Nocturnals Most Respected: Miss Loretta Lynn Most fun: Scissor Sisters (heard, not seen, from camp) Wish I saw: Dr. John (sleeping...)
Probably my Top 10 right here, not in order, though AF and MMJ might actually fall at 9 & 10. I've just never been able to enjoy a night show on the What Stage if I'm past the bleachers and food vendors on the right side. I think Roo's just too big, too many freaking people, too many people that really just don't give a crap about the band on stage. I go to Roo for the music and to get lost in it, not to sit in a field with my back to the stage and mingle with everyone around. Which Stage should be as big as it gets. Heard Mumford drew in an estimated 50,000, which I think was what the Stripes had in 07. And for the record, I have a tidbit from a panel I attended on Sunday featuring the founders of the festival. First year they sold 70,000 tickets. Straight from the mouth of Mr. AC. In the past I've heard some people say 40,000. Don't have evidence but heard they sold 85,000 this year. Anyway, now that thats over with...
Robert Plant Explosions in the Sky Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers Mavis Staples Buffalo Springfield Mumford & Sons Arcade Fire My Morning Jacket Ray LaMontagne Bela Fleck & the Flecktones
#1- ROBYN- killed it, but needed a longer set time. 2. School Of Seven Bells - so glad i decided to give them a chance. now i can't get enough 3. Mumford & Sons- should've been on WHAT! 4. !!!- duh! 5. STS9/Explosions in the Sky - it's a tie
