Yeah, me too. I just wish they still had Michael Anthony as his harmonies kind of helped make the band for me. Those multi-singer bands (e.g. The Who, Van Halen, Alice in Chains, Yes, Beatles, etc.) add a layer with that harmonizing that you don't find in one singer bands.
Anyway, I just picked up a $10.00 ticket to see Dopapod tomorrow at Howlin' Wolf. I'm pretty psyched to get a shot to see a whole set, since I only caught the last 15-20 minutes at Waka 2014. Also hitting Hogs for the Cause on Saturday which will mean Toubab Krewe, Wood Brothers, Running Pardners and possibly J. Roddy Walston and the Business if I'm not sleeping off pig by then.
Is Moon Hooch opening for Dopapod? If so don't sleep on them! They tore the roof off when I saw them open for Dopapod a few weeks ago. Have fun! Hard not to at a dance party like that
The bill is Hipnosis. I don't know them, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I hear you on Moon Hooch. I caught some of them at Waka last year, and they were great. Moon Hooch is actually playing here Friday at Hogs for the Cause with Earphunk, Uncle Lucius, Strand of Oaks and Drive-by Truckers. I got a funeral that day, so I can only go on Saturday. But they are a band that I'll definitely catch any chance I get. I think Moon Hooch is great.

"Rocks the Blocks" is this weekend in Blacksburg. It's a lineup of small bands that play at the downtown bars. Catching ELM and People's Blue of Richmond tonight. Should be a good time.

Looks Wilco is boycotting Indiana due to the new "religion" law.
I feel bad for those who don't get to go because of this, but on the other hand, from what I know that law is terrible and I'm glad Wilco is showing some resistance to it.

Griz tonight and then my first time seeing Sylvan Esso tomorrow. Can't wait such a good album. Has anyone seen them recently? Are they doing the whole album plus a couple of covers or do they have some new material at this point?

Yay! I'm seeing them Friday - so lemme know how their show tomorrow is. I remember Monie said that they didn't really do many (or any?) covers in the show she went to, which surprised me.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

No covers at all. They did the entire album though and one new song. Their "encore" they came out and she goes "well, if you've listened to our album you know that's all the songs we have but we'll see what we can do." Then they did a slowed down take on Hey Mami. It was just one verse and the chorus I believe though. I think we were one of the first shows though so they may have added some covers to make the set longer. I hope they did anyway, because I felt like they ended way too early. I wanna say the only played for around an hour, maybe just over. It was a great show, I had a shit ton of fun and danced my ass off.
they announced the music for three rivers arts festival yesterday. the list is pretty awesome, though some of it is obviously during bonnaroo. and it's free!

i feel like there are more shows than usual that i'd like to see. it's always a bummer that they overlap.
Theyve done a really good job the past few years with the music lineups. I think TRAF and VIA are the 2 festivals that Pittsburgh really shines music wise.
