Praise Jebus!! Lorde, RTJ, and Mitski all in one night??
I just witnessed a small miracle. I read every comment on Mitski's Twitter post about the tour and there wasn't a single negative comment. What a unique and awesome tour.
Random tidbit: you can tour the celestial seasonings tea factory in in Boulder and there's one room where they have all the peppermint tea by itself so the flavor doesn't seep into everything else. When you walk into the room you can actually feel the peppermint burning your eyes. You'd love it.

The Lorde tour is a great bill, but it also shows that they're pulling out the big guns to actually move tickets for this tour. I guess wth the endless number of Lorde clones the industry has pumped out the demand for the OG just isn't what they were expecting.

I believe Atlanta was already sold out. I think this is just a case of Lorde handpicking the openers.

Yeah, the Chicago, KC and STL dates still have quite a few tickets left by the looks of it.

To be fair, Atlanta is one of the smallest venues she's playing on this tour. Most places she's playing are around 20,000 and Infinite Energy Center is more like 13,000. And outside of Nashville the closest place to see her if you live in Atlanta is Tampa--a six hour drive away. It makes complete sense that Atlanta would sell out before Boston, Philly, Brooklyn, etc.
I'm sure she picked those openers herself but it's reasonable to assume it was at the behest of the promoter.
Not that it really matters because it sounds like a fucking awesome night of music.

houston isn't sold out as far as I can tell. its where the rockets play, it definitely sells out for things, but when i saw maiden there it was like half full. (~18,000 capacity)

I think Lorde would've sold out this tour if her album had generated some big singles, but it seems to be a critical darling rather than a sales smash-hit.

Wife had been asking me if I would buy tickets to the KC show. Hesitated but the RTJ announcement today finally got me to pull the trigger. So whomever is responsible for the booking, it worked. Got decent seats considering how long they've been on sale.
that looks pretty neat. i wish their show with ministry wasn't so expensive.
That's what I thought too, $40+ fees here. I mean, I never saw Death Grips and would like to see it, but not sure about Ministry, so I think I'll pass.
Ministry is one of the greatest bands to ever come out of Texas and I think on my Top 10 All Time Shows I ever saw (Lollapalooza 1992).
They were FUCKING AMAZING at Riot Fest. Of course I was a huge Ministry fan in high school.
i caught the end of their set at this small metal fest last year. it was just Thieves, but thats like saying yeah I went to the museum but all I saw was the Mona Lisa.
For anyone in NYC, I have a single ticket to Kelela at Bowery Ballroom on 11/13. Physical, and willing to meetup (anywhere below 14th, preferably.) PM me, it's yours
