it was nice. got until the morning and Lebanese woman, there were only a couple of 'reggae' tracks, everything else was just that jamtronica with different world music bits. lights were pretty good, 2 drummers, bunch of guest vocalists to do all the parts (the Jamaican guy/girl, the rapper, two different female singers, and then some old white dude who came out to do the Coyne/Byrne songs). it was also packed, there were like 100 people at cherub in the same venue.
would definitely see again, LN festival set would probably be the move. also my first time seeing a sitar live.
they played for a long time, probably a full 2 hours. I left halfway through the encore, realized I had left my card, went back and they were still going.
Has anyone seen Thievery Corporation lately? I'm planning to get tickets to one of their upcoming shows, but wanted to ask around first.
Bomb. We saw them like 2 weeks ago. They’re on tour with about 5 of their singing collaborators. They played a full two hours to a full house. It was great if you like Thievery. I was there with a couple girls who had never seen them. Both were suitably impressed for knowing nothing

I guess that means he's out for BC, which is a bummer.
Also now Paak, Empress Of, Parcels, and Julia Holter are all playing shows in NYC on 2/22

I'm sad he's not at BC but I'm glad i won't have to worry about any conflicts. I missed him at Osheaga because I wanted a good spot for Arctic Monkeys. Also I'm excited to see him play a full set rather than a shortened 50 minute one.

I always selfishly hope that artists will play headlining shows in NYC and then play Boston Calling so I have two opportunities to see them
But it also feels like Paak hasn't done a proper tour in a while, so this should be fun.

* I haven't seen Heep since 1982, so 36 years there. Many of their 70's/seminal musicians died along the way. Mick Box was always kind of a guitar wizard and underappreciated because they were honest, not money grabbers and never tried to be more than the music. Magician's Birthday, Demons and Wizards, Look at Yourself, Sweet Freedom and Return to Fantasy were probably my favorite Heep albums. Hard rock.
The local metal club here had a half off sale and I blindly bought tickets to a RATM/Tool cover band show. So yesterday I was watching youtube videos before the show Sat. I went through some emotional ups and downs with this Tool cover band or I should say bands. The first one I played wasn't good at all and I was immediately regretting my decision. I played another video and it was actually good and I was like wait, these are different guys. I played a few more of their videos and they're actually really good and I was getting excited. Then I played another video that didn't sound as good and again I discovered that it was different guys. So there's at least 3 Tool cover bands that have Third Eye in their name. The one we're actually seeing is the 3rd band. They're better than the 1st band but not near as good as the 2nd band.
