I can't decide between this show and Local Natives that night at Marathon! Waiting for Coach's lineup to make a decision. Although if both end up being on it, I won't know what to do...
I would bet money they'll both be at Coachella. Local Natives play here on 4/5 and then their next show is 4/25 in Portland, OR. Alt-J play in San Francisco on 4/10 and then nothing until 5/3. Perfect openings.

I saw Yes in 2008 in Biloxi and it was one of the most hilarious concert experiences that I've ever had...mostly because of the hardcore Yes fans that were there and their enthusiastic air high fives to each other from across the room, bowing to the stage, leather Rush jackets, etc. Chris Squire looked like Foghorn Leghorn bouncing around with his bass resting on his man titty. Steve Howe shredded so hard that I thought his old skeleton-looking ass was going to burst into a dust cloud at any moment. Benoit David was singing with them then and he was spot on. New guy seems pretty good based on youtube vidjas.
A++ would see again edit: oh shiz, cheap tickets only $30 after fees and biloxi show is on a friday. ;D

Yeah, I saw Yes with Benoit (can't say that name without thinking of the wrestler/murderer) in 08... a friend got me tickets for my birthday, and I have to say that Benoit sounded better than Anderson sounds nowadays, so it wasn't too distracting. They played all of Close To The Edge, just not in order, and it really was a great setlist... nerd central, let me tell you. I'm pretty sure we were the youngest people there by a good measure. They slowed down the tempo of some of the more complex or fast songs just a tad, but nothing too bad as to change the effect of the songs.
It's worth seeing if the tickets are affordable and you're a big enough Yes fan, but I wouldn't travel too far or pay too much.

I've only been to the Masquerade a couple of times: ~ in '06 for Mastodon and The Bronx...that show was upstairs top floor and the capacity is apparently around 1000. ~ this year for Refused and OFF!...that show was outside and there had to have been at least 2000 people there. I can't see them having this show outside though so I am baffled that this show hasn't sold out yet. Anyway, I came here to post this:

Yeah, I've been there a bunch, including that Refused show. I think 1000 capacity is plenty big for a Neurosis show in Atlanta, the only wild card is it being (as you pointed out) the only SE date. That's a weird time of year for traveling, so maybe it won't be an issue. My plans are still up in the air and I haven't bought a ticket yet, so I kind of hope it doesn't sell out in advance.

Aaaaand, already got tickets to Bosnian Rainbows in Asheville, as well as booked a room at the DTI for the evening. People in the area, if you're into Omar or anything like that, tickets are only 14 bucks... should be an interesting show. The reviews I've read so far of their gigs have been overwhelmingly positive.
Jeeez... Ok remember when DJ Shadow released his dates, and I was expressing surprise and confusion as to why Dj shadow was playing mansion night club in miami beach? You see, mansion is one of these bottle service centric miami super clubs, full of the douchiest, plastic, soulless people. They normally strictly play house and hip hop.
Well dj shadow didn't come to appease those people., he came to be himself and do his thing. And apparently that got him kicked off the f_cking stage. I didn't go, but a number of my friends went to see dj shadow. Apparently he was just playing his set and security came and took him off stage. A large crowd of fans booed and screamed at security. It's being speculated some of the wealthier big ballers dropping the big bucks in vip complained they wanted to hear more house. No mind to the fans who turned out, paid $35 entry, and bought their f_cking $12 heinekens as they waited til 3 am for him to start. I am SO glad I didn't go, I would have started a riot. Quack that place.
