For those that saw Lauryn Hill at Bonnaroo, is her show worth $62.50 + fees? She's coming to my neighborhood in a few weeks and tickets just went on sale.

YES. Before that show I never went to see her because I thought the price was too high. The show was amazing and I'd definitely pay that much to see it again. The thing is, she doesn't play the songs the way that you know them. Everything is super fast and reggae-ish. I described it as like Lauryn Hill superjam kind of feel. If that sounds good to you, then yes, definitely do it.
Thursday 30th - The Bug + Manga Friday 31th - Artikal Records Tour w/ J:Kenzo, Sleeper, Thelem, and Eshone What shows are you guys going to see for Halloween. Also I miss MOEMS.
Free Kendrick Lamar show in Cleveland on the 30th. There's nothing enticing happening on the 31st in Cleveland, but I'm excited as hell to see Kendrick.

Nice, can't really beat free. Thursday is night I am excited for as well, missed him at Mountain Oasis last year. Friday is a bunch of dubstep, small venue with good beer should be a good show.
If I can make it back to Atlanta from Indianapolis in time tonight, I will see Tombs with Pallbearer and Screaming Females after. If I get in late, it will just be SF, which I'm more excited about anyway.
Def going catch UM either at Charlottesville or Richmond in February. One of my best friends who I have been to Bonnaroo with goes to UVA, and my brother lives about 5 miles from The National. The show in Richmond is on a Thursday which would prob be more convenient than a Wednesday, but C-ville is a shorter trip. Guess I'll have to wait for my schedule to be official for next semester.

I made it in time for both shows. Tombs were badass. I've given Pallbearer every chance and I still don't like them. If I ever grow a ponytail, maybe I will try again. Screaming Females totally rocked. She is one of the greatest geetar shredders in the business.

Jealous. I had tickets to Tombs/Pallbearer/Vattnet Viskar on Halloween and couldn't make it. I've never been a huge Screaming Females fan but saw the performance they gave on Pancake Mountain and got re-interested in checking them out.

The Screaming Females live experience is top notch. When they come to your town, get close to the stage. Marissa is a force of nature and incredible to watch.
So that had to be the deadest show I've ever seen at the OP (crowd-wise). The Creature Carnival Afterparty plan did not play out according to their expectations..

Agreed, I don't think I have seen that few of people at the Orange Peel since Classixx. And it seemed like the ones that were there were not ready for a Bug show, especially when Manga came out. I thought it was good, nothing mind blowing or anything, I would see him again.
What do I need to know about seeing shows in Charleston, SC? Venues/Locations/Cities Nearby/Etc.? I will be there a good bit November-January.
Anybody? sang_xcx, custeph, y'all are from South Carolina, right? And it's next week through March 31st that I will be there. Possibly longer if some other things go through.

Yeah I was front left, at the rail. I remember thinking it was extra strange that the ~30 person crowd was spaced like a swarm of bees. A girl came up to the front after the show and asked them what they were called, then she asked me what was Manga's nationality.. Felt bad for them, but I enjoyed it too.

We're about 3.5 hrs from Charleston, so I don't go often. The only show I've ever seen there was PJ back when they were boycotting Ticketmaster. I have a friend who lives there & is big in the music scene; I'll send her a message & get back to you.

As for other cities, Charlotte is about 3 hrs away. Columbia SC is closer at 2 hrs, but I don't think they have as many shows come thru. Bishop? Charleston is a really cool city, so you should find lots to do.

Same here, I've only been to one show in Charleston.
I'm really crossing my fingers that the music is halfway decent there after experiencing how terribly dead it is in Indianapolis. Luckily, it's close enough to Atlanta that I can drive back home on the weekends when I get a chance. Custeph, please do let me know what your Charleston friend says.
