Doing NOLA and ATL
Apparently the Live Nation presale for MIA is tomorrow. Would anybody be kind enough to hook me up with the presale code, please?
There's not a pre-sale for NOLA or ATL. You need to favorite the band and venue on ticketmaster/livenation, and maybe they'll email you the presale code.
How big is your venue? And why is he still playing places this small? Mercy Lounge is a teacup.
I'm not sure what that "y" is in reference to, so I'll address the latter questions. The 7th Street Entry holds 250; the adjacent First Ave holds around 1500 the last I checked. He is scheduled to play the Entry as far as the listing goes and based on historic tour displays for past bands coming through. If it says "First Avenue & 7th Street Entry," they're playing the entry. Otherwise it would just say First Ave.
Why he is still playing places this small is also beyond me. Sometimes, as I assume is custom for cities around the country, if it does sell out really quickly they might move him to the Triple Rock or the Fine Line. How small is the Mercy Lounge?
Mercy Lounge holds 500 and that is where he played the last time I saw him. But it is in the same building as the Cannery. It holds 1,000. And when a show sells well, they will often move it.
GAH! I just saw this five minutes ago. Gonna buy my tickets when they go on sale Friday. I bet so many fucking people on this board will be at these shows, goddamn. And this venue's capacity is 250 and you just KNOW that shit is gonna sell out quick. Ugh. It's gonna be good. Spring tour announcements. Life is grand.
edit. Usually when it includes the Entry in the venue description, that means it's there, but technically that's the whole venue name. I don't care which one it's in, but the Entry would be fucking sweet.
Calm down. It's Minnesota for goodness sake. How many of there are you in this board? Three? Four? You will get tickets.
I wasn't worried about getting tickets for this at all until I saw your post, did some digging, and found out he sold the Turf Club, a 350-capacity venue in St. Paul, in 2014. Thanks for making me nervous!

I can't remember if I have posted about this already, but...
A local music website has been running a series of secret shows this fall. The idea is that you buy the ticket for the show knowing the artist (they've all been local or small touring acts) but you don't find out the location of the show until the day before. They have tried to make all the shows in venues that aren't the standard live venues for Knoxville. For example, they rented out a local beer store/garden for one show, another was in a local shopping center where they had rehabbed an old car dealership and another was in a salvage place where they try to save detail work from historic houses that have been torn down in Knoxville. I haven't been able to make any so far, but the finale for this series is Friday, and tickets have been purchased. As it's the finale, this is the biggest one with it being three shows being played at three different venues with transportation being provided in between shows by Knox Brew Tours. I have my fingers crossed that the venues are three different local breweries, but I'm pretty excited for it regardless. The three acts for this show are Humming House (who I saw part of at Rhythm N Blooms), Elenowen and firekid (who just signed a major label contract).
In the best/worst move, they only announced the first venue today of the three. It's The Pretentious Beer Glass Company which is a local company that makes custom glassware (picture under the spoiler below). The only other info I know is the one of the other venues is standing room only and the other is exposed to the elements. Also, the last venue is bigger than the other two. The email made it sound as if we won't know the second venue until we're on the shuttle bus. This is awesome because of the mystery but terrible because I wanna know now.
Oh shit, All Them Witches just announced more tour dates, and they're coming back through Austin! Turning into some seasoned road warriors quickly.
I included all their current tour dates, but the new ones are the ones in Jan. If they're coming through your town, SEE THEM! The new album is fantastic, and they are really taking off live.

Nice an Asheville date. Also The Grey Eagle is starting to grow on me, but maybe that is because I saw Fuzz there last night.

Yeah, I don't know when I first started going to shows there it seemed like if there was a drummer on stage it was all you could hear. It seems to be a lot better now. Also is just always hot in there due to them having like four tiny celling fans. The food is amazing there though.

I've only been to 3 shows there and only one was a rock show.
