Has anybody seen Yo La Tengo? There is a free show tonight, and I'm debating if I should go. I don't know any of their songs, but read mostly good things about it.

Echoing everyone else to say you should absolutely go. They are great live.
And then when you get back you should listen to I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One, And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out, and I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass. For starters.

I've seen them at two fests, one great set, one very not so great set. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or not.

All three times I've seen them, it was a a festival and all were good but only one was great. If you're a big fan of their deep tracks and stuff, I'd def suggest pulling the trigger because they do slot more of that at their own shows than at fests. I'll be in Orlando. Their recent set lists look pretty damn good.

The bad one had less to do with the setlist and more to do with Brock looking/playing like he didn't give a shit about being here. But in his defense he was up against Wayne & Chainz and basically no one was at Modest Mouse.
Also gonna do the NOLA Modest Mouse show. It's on a fn Monday which is awful for me, but they are my lady's fav band so I gotta make it happen. Seen them at Hangout, Voodoo and Riot Fest and loved all three. Excite to see them in a theater.

Saw them in a theater in Birmingham, AL last year and it was a much better show than the three fest sets I had seen. If one is near I would recommend going.

Ugh so tempted to do the Modest Mouse show in Miami, but $60 after fees for a single show is just so shitty, even if it is Modest Mouse. I've seen them twice and didn't love the new album, so I think I might sit this one out given how much money I've spent on shows already this year.

ew, yeah, just saw about same price for me idk. I'm trying to save up for a massive end of Sept.-early Oct. run of Depeche > Arcade Fire > Big Thief > War on Drugs > King Gizzard > Wilco or Flaming Lips/Marco > Gov. Mule > Benjamin Booker.
Then there's King Crimson after ACL, and maybe LCD > Ween for Halloween.
