Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I went to Hangout the first two years but I haven't bought a ticket. I just can't get into the lineup. If Eddie Vedder or Bon Iver were not on the Bonnaroo lineup and added to hangout, I probably would. Thing is, for the cost of taking the family to Hangout, I can go solo to Coachella (and meet up with some of my best friends from college). My wife is kinda lukewarm on Hangout this year anyway.
As to the shuttle tickets, last year we walked from our place, but we drove in one day and were very easily able to find a place back in the neighborhoods off of Hwy 182 (the road the festival is on) on the street or in big open parking lots to park. You could easily walk from there, ~ 10 min. No problems, no tickets. Could be different this year of course.
Yup, that's what I did last year. We tried to find a spot to park and ride the shuttle from Perdido Key and Orange Beach, but after not seeing a single shuttle or even a sign showing where to get picked up at, we drove down towards the fest and found spots easily each day. We parked on the side of the road on 2nd Ave just east of Hwy. 59. Check it out on google maps and look for the brown/grassy area. There was plenty of free parking to be had all up and down the side of that road.
Stayed down in the Perdido Key/Oranage Beach area. Shuttle system seemed to run smoother from that area, compared to the clusterfuck that was the Publix shopping center.
My favorite bar I've ever been to is the FloraBama, so I use Hangout as an excuse to go there. That's where I'll be walking distance from.

Now that I have time to look back on the lineup with normal expectations, more and more shows are looking good. Tribal seeds & rebelution will be perfect on any stage.
Kyejwe do you know anything about the sweet water fest ? I'm aware they have a thread just wondering if it's worth the drive . If so just the Mikey hart band alone could get me on board

Any suggestions on getting started with these guys?

Rebelution's Bright Side of Life is good white boy reggae. They are definitely are bright spot on the lineup. Never listened to Tribal Seeds.

tribal seeds is good. same vein of music really. they be in atl in early march. the harvest is a good album and so is "tribal seeds". honestly my favorite rebelution album is courage to grow and the new album, peace of mind, (all three versions: studio, accoustic and dub) is gold.

Sweetwater's lineup is pretty decent this year, especially due to the fact that it is free. MHB, Soulive, Maceo, Anders, etc. HOWEVER, it falls right on top of WANEE this year. MAJOR conflict.
Sweetwater was at the same time as Wanee last year too. I'll choose Wanee everytime...
If you are going to Wanee check out the "Fur Peace Ranch", its a musicians clinic run by Jorma from Jefferson airplane/ Hot Tuna. They have guitar classes, bass classes, and this big drum session with MICKEY HART for $75. I had to sign up for that. Playing all kinds of percussive instruments with Mickey on 4/20 is just too epic to pass up.

Just read somewhere that Paul Oakenfold is putting out an album with the RHCP recording on it. I'm not as much of a Paul Oakenfold and trance fan as I used to be, but having the RHCP come during Oakenfold's set would be pretty cool.

I hear that. Yeah it's lookin' like we are gonna go Wanee this year as well. Gotta make sure the lady has the time off, but I already have the time off so I might end up goin' solo if she cant score the leave. Might be lookin' for some good folks to camp by ;D
Fogerty would be a dream come true for me. I've been dying to see him for years. My life will not be complete until I hear Keep on Chooglin in person. Hearing it in this setting would be amazing.
Others I'd love to see added to the lineup:
Araabmuzik Mastodon Dumpstaphunk Opeth Glitch Mob The Original Meters Eddie Vedder EOTO Local H Break Science Atmosphere Old Crow Medicine Show Trombone Shorty Garage A Trois Umphrey's McGee Galactic Pretty Lights Conspirator Big Boi

OCMS was ridiculous last year. So good. Last year also, UM played a heavy solid set, but it was in the middle of the day and probably the hottest point the whole weekend. I doubt either would come back for this year's lineup though. Could see Galactic being added. Seeing them this weekend about 20 minutes from the Hangout.
