Several weeks ago there I went with some friends (former coworkers) to a beer festival that was next door to my workplace, and a very intoxicated me made the terrible decision of coming into the store to use the bathroom and say hi. I didn't do anything stupid or inappropriate and I wasn't on the clock obviously, but someone ended up reporting me to corporate. I'm about 90% sure that I know who it was - an employee who's been itching for me to screw up because she can't stand me, but never had a concrete reason to complain about me. I found out about this last week, so for the past week or so I've been very anxious about the possibility that I might lose my job. This was especially stressful for me because because my life has been pretty majorly affected by other people's alcohol use and I'm rather selective about when I allow myself to drink to excess because of that, so the prospect of being fired for that dug really deep into me personally.
Well, I met with our regional manager today and he was basically just like "Yeah, I'm just gonna chalk that up as a bad decision", and ended up spending far more time talking to me about other management strategies and tips, and flat out said that he likes me and that I should let him know if there are any opportunities in the company that I'm interested in so he can tell me if he thinks it would be a good fit for me.
Usually I'm good at my job, and sometimes I'm not, but it's good to know that several years of good work outweigh one negative complaint in the eyes of the people who matter - and it's good to have empathetic higher-ups who understand that a.) there are two sides to every story and b.) sometimes people do things that are just flat-out stupid.

I can recommend a couple of really fine establishments to receive an asian handjob.
PM me for more info.
All within the past year, too...makes me wonder.

Just caught Chance The Rapper on Stephen Colbert. I'm not huge into rap, but would like to be able to catch him at some point. His energy and smile are infectious, looks like a really fun time.
last week, i stayed an extra day at work for my coworker when something came up last minute and no one would cover for him. i came in for my shift last night, and found a really sweet thank you card with a starbucks gift card. it's been a long time working really hard (doing overtime and doing a lot of extra work that isn't my responsibility) without any acknowledgment from the supervisors. it really made my night to feel appreciated by someone who works directly with me. also, a pretty nerdy thing to get excited about, but my favorite craft blogger "liked" my halloween picture and commented that she loved our costumes. tuesday isn't too bad so far.
Does anyone use PayPal anymore? I have tickets for sale on Craigslist and I've had like 6 people interested. I give them my PayPal info to send the money and then... nothing happens.

I don't know if I've ever felt as out of touch with the youths as right now.
I was listening to On Point on NPR last night (clue #1 I'm out of touch with them!), and they were talking about the future of media subscriptions (Youtube Red, Netflix, etc).
How and why is someone called PewDiePie the most popular thing on Youtube? I watched maybe 5-10 mins of his videos I just don't get it.
Is this the future?
And Jaz, I like your avatar, don't listen to the others! I'm just curious of its origins though.

I don't' get the whole phenomenon of "watching someone else play video games" either. But it's HUGE. South Park did an awesome episode all about it and featured PewDiePie and made the commentary about how "grandpas" actually play video games.
I guess it has more to do with young people always having a screen in front of them (computers at home/school, tablets and phones when away from computers) and the youtube generation of watching everyone do everything (I'm still shocked at how many/how popular unboxing videos are) just making this into a thing.
I was talking to a co-worker about Last of Us and he asked if I got up to a certain part. I said yea and started talking about how frustrating one part was and he was like "Oh, I haven't played the game yet....I've just watched someone playthrough it". I don't think I'd enjoy watching a few hours worth of someone else playing it. The thing with pewdiepie is he's at least "funny" and makes jokes throughout...like a running commentary.

I can understand unboxing videos to an extent. When researching a new product, it's often not a bad way to see some good close ups of the product/have questions answered/get a feel for it/etc. I've watched unboxing videos of some of my larger purchases recently. But do people watch them for products they're not considering buying?
Watching someone play a video game is absolutely crazy to me. I remember I had a co-worker back in '09 that was into that, no idea it had gotten this large. Why not play the game yourself?
