You should address this person as a woman, regardless of the stage of their transition.
I also don't agree with this. You should just address them by the pronouns they prefer. I definitely have known people that weren't comfortable with changing their pronouns yet at the beginning of their transitions.
Good clarification, thanks. I agree with your approach on talking to the mutual friend as well. I thought Fozzy already did that when I responded.
The amount of people who hate on people who don't kill animals for their food, believe Tofu is some nasty foreign being (please tell that to the majority Asian population of this world please. But fuck them right and their soybeans.) I have zero faith in the USA.
Literally fucking Texans who make $61 million in revenue from soybean products - having all these asshats riled up against dem "hippies". goddamn it. Meat so good - hate everyone else who don't eat meat meh meh meh.
When something happens with your car and you just assume the worst and already start cancelling plans. Like ok guess I need to try to sell those NIN tickets. False alarm. I hope.

I’m going to eat so much cheese and so many pigs and drink all the wine. Our friends grandfather owns a bakery/cafe and I’ve already decided he will be my new best friend.
Maybe he’ll adopt me. You can be adopted twice right?
I just figured out that Alexis Bliedel and Amy Acker are different people... #MichaelChe was right.
They look very different to me but I've been watching them both for over a decade (on Gilmore Girls and Angel, respectively).
I.. yes, I, watched all of Angel and also Person Of Interest (which I think is criminally underrated for a procedural).. and somehow throughout all of Handmaid's Tale I just figured out that they were different people. I feel both bad, yet humored.
Bubbies pickles from Whole Foods are hands down the best store bought pickles I've ever had, I go through jars way too quickly
When shopping at Whole Foods for pickles, I usually go with Rick's Hotties. They're not super hot or anything, just sour and spicy. Unfortunately at nearly $7/jar, I don't get them very often.
Wasn't sure if this belong in the politics thread or not, so if so it can be moved there. I wasn't going to post here on this matter because I figured there doesn't seem to be a lot of people here from Indiana, and it wasn't really a national matter. However, after someone involved in the situation was asked to make an appearance on Ellen, I decided I'd share it with you guys after watching the video. This will be a long block of text, just a warning.
I don't have a facebook, and I don't read about Indianapolis news daily, so I didn't know what happened until some of my friends from back home texted me about it. I went to a Catholic High School, and every year at the school the teachers/staff must renew their contracts. Part of the contract is that you must uphold Catholic teachings (you can't be gay and married being one of them). A guidance counselor who went to the high school and came back to the school to work there was gay, but kept it a secret. She wasn't married the whole time, but she was in a relationship and lived together almost the whole time (another weird rule at the school, even if you're straight you can't live with another member of the opposite sex if you're not married lol). My mom works at a school that feeds into Roncalli, and is friends with a lot of people who work there. Supposedly the parents of a child who had Shelly as their guidance counselor weren't pleased with how she was handling their child, and wanted to attack her. They went on a wild witch hunt across 7-8 counties in Indiana because they had heard rumors of her being gay (when I said it was a secret, I just meant that she wasn't out publicly , many at the school knew. I wasn't one of them, she wasn't my guidance counselor and I can attest that most students had no idea) and married. When they finally found her marriage certificate, they took it to the president because they knew that they could cause damage with it.
They outed her on their facebook page and all other social media, saying why they were suspending her until the matter was dealt with. This has caused a lot of blowback. They had to delete all social media because of the negative comments about the situation they were receiving. The students have been wearing gay pride/rainbow stickers, wristbands and shirts underneath their uniforms. They showed up to the first football game and all had posters supporting her, and the starting running back even came out waving a rainbow bandana and had the name of the guidance counselor on his wrist bands.
This whole thing has been a mess. The principal said the N word during an assembly where the whole point of speaking to the students was to explain that hate isn't okay, but felt it was necessary to say that word to get his point across. The running back in that picture is half black, and stormed out right after he said it. He then punched a whole in the wall, breaking his wrist (you can see the cast in the video with Ellen). The principal banned gay pride/rainbow memorabilia, but then denied it to the media when asked about it, even though students were able to confirm that he lied about it. I've heard many at the school wish that language in the staff contracts would be taken out, but the Archdiocese of Indianapolis refuses to budge, even though they have met numerous times about it. My mom told me one of the biggest outcomes of actually firing her (she's on administrative leave currently) would be that they would have to go through every high school/grade school throughout Indianapolis and central Indiana and basically clean house of all the LGBTQ staff. I know for a fact that one of my favorite teachers from grade school is a lesbian. Everyone there knows, but no one cares because she's an award winning teacher who everyone loves. I also know for a fact there's another LGBTQ staff member at Roncalli who I'm shocked hasn't been mentioned at all throughout all of this, a lot more people know about them.
I'm going to attach a lot of articles that may be able to more clearly explain the situation. It absolutely disgusts me that this is happening. I received a great education at this school, but I won't be giving them any money in the future, and I know for a fact that a lot of people are stopping donations/pulling their kids out of the school as a result. They won't get hurt immediately, but this is a private school that relies on donations to update the facilities and for general upkeep. When they come around asking for money and some of the people that normally give large amounts of money stop, it'll bite them in the ass (at least what I've been told among certain families that have already told the administration this). I know Indiana isn't really progressive, but it sickens me knowing that this kind of thing is still going on today.

I just got a robocall that was in Chinese. I don’t speak Chinese, so I just pushed buttons until I heard a human voice, then I read my credit card number to them. That was the proper way to handle that, right?

Depends. You gave them your social security number too, right?

I've been getting these calls for the last 6 months or so. Every time I block the number, I get a similar call from another number. At this point I gave up, I will learn Chinese.

Oh dang, I didn’t think of that. I better call them back.

This was my first Chinese one. Usually, I get robocalls from the Las Vegas area code because I didn’t change my number when I moved. I have gotten ten or more calls from those numbers in a single day, so I’ve just started ignoring those. But this one was from a California number so it caught me off guard. Apparently, the messages in Chinese are usually scare tactics, saying they are from the Chinese consulate or something and that the person will be in big trouble if they don’t pay up.
Hahaha. Except there is this one dude Kyle from Houston I know who is pretty cool.
He's ok.
Speaking of assholes, that Crowell celebration just now was horrible - or funny in an extreme way. He wiped his ass with the ball 2-3x and threw it to the Browns crowd. 15 yards and probably a hefty fine on the way for that one.
