I drank a six-pack of Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale at my cousin's house tonight and can't find that drunken rambling thread. INDIAN BROWN IS DELICIOUS. BYE! (OR MAYBE TALK LATER?)

Should I read the books first or watch the series first? I saw that they have the 5 books on Amazon for $25 which seems like a great deal. I did the read first/movies later thing for Potter and luckily I'm one of the ones who can separate the two.

I would suggest books first because there are some edits/omissions made necessary by amount of time they are allowed for the show. The show is great, but the books allow a fuller experience. Realistically, you can't go wrong either way.

I still haven't gotten around to the books yet. I tried reading the first book after having watched the show but for me it was too similar and that just made it a really slow read and hard for me to get too into. Obviously the payoff will come once you get further in, but it just made tough for me.
Scientology helped me realize why I'm hurting all the time. I know it gets knocked as a cult or whatever but I honestly couldn't be more thankful. For those interested in unlocking their inner pain, I made a video diary about my revelation:

I just discovered that the actor that played Ralphie's friend Flick in The Christmas Story movie did porn! The kid that got his tongue stuck to the flagpole.

I just sat my youngest down and told him the truth about Santa Claus. Man, that's the worst. I feel both relieved to be done with the lie and like a huge jerk at the same time. Nothing like rocking the entire world of a little kid on a casual Monday evening.

I found out the hard way. My brother and I searched the house til I found the stash of presents, and saw some tagged as "From: Santa" and recognized it was my mother's handwriting.

I'm surprised more kids aren't that mischievous.

Handwriting did us in on one of our boys. Fat guy fitting through a chimney was too much for the oldest to accept. My sweet, sweet naive baby boy, who knows? But I always want them to hear stuff from us first if possible and some of the neighborhood kids who know are starting to talk a lot, so it was time.
My mom called me earlier to tell me I had a 10 lb bag of potatoes to pick up. Apparently, my grandfather got everyone in my family a bag. I have no idea how to use that many potatoes.

Homemade potato chips/french fries? Pierogies?
I will definitely have to experiment with some recipes. I may just drop off bags of potatoes to random houses.
