, this could have been Monie and me (don't hate us for skipping!):
I actually tried to give Max Richter a listen before the show to get into it, but I... well, I fell asleep. Which I suppose is the point. But it would have been more for the Opera House sleepover part than the music itself.
You should have gone. Napping at concerts is one of my favorite things in life. I long for an artist to dare me to bring a sleeping bag. Let's just hope I don't snore.
Try 24 Postcards In Color. Most will say The Blue Notebooks or Infra but that remains my favorite.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I fell asleep at trans-Siberian Orchestra and Primus. We were like 5th row for both. The guys behind us at Primus kept yelling at me. No one should ever come between me and sleeping. I'm sure there are other shows. When I'm ready to sleep, I go to sleep.
Does anyone think it's weird that the arrival thread is inactive? I was really looking forward to being helpful and messing around with people a little tiny bit.

That seems really cool/weird/intimate. How much were tickets to something like this? How long did they play (all night??)?
I hate that new FB feature that makes you go through everyones old post you haven't seen when you go someones page. I don't want to know everthing you've done in the last few months I just want to check out that last article you posted dammit.

Yea, the whole "posts you haven't seen" thing is annoying. I want a chronological view.
I randomly saw ITM on the streets of Chicago tonight while I was out for a run and pretty gross looking. He asked if I wanted some of his leftovers. I'm not usually someone who eats my own leftovers but I said sure since I live here and have a fridge. I asked him if he wanted to grab a beer and he said no and he didn't have cash on him. Then he called me a bum and walked away.

WELP now I see ITMs original post and this all makes so much more sense
Are you sure he knew it was you and not just a random homeless guy? This sounds exactly like an interaction with a homeless guy.
HG [all sweaty and stuff]: HEY ITRAINMONKEYS IT'S ME BILLYBAROO
Random guy: Uh, hey man. Need something to eat? I have these leftovers.
HG [clearly doesn't want leftovers]: Sure okay, but I'd rather have a drink. Want to get a drink with me ITM?
Random guy: Sorry man, don't have any cash [runs away, stops making eye contact]

Because I wasn't super sold on it, I didn't really take a close look at tickets - it seems they charged show and a hotel prices. And yes, they played all night - I read it ran about 8-9 hours. I have the utmost respect for any musician who can play for that long.
Guys, I'm stuck in my first situation where I'm gonna have to be an adult... I've my ticket purchased for Lollapalooza but today, I found that I am likely getting the spot as the production assistant for the Halloween event that Busch Gardens Tampa Bay does, "Howl-o-Scream." This job would only be six weeks but it would lead to many great future opportunities. BUT, Lollapalooza falls during those six weeks...
This post has multiple functions: I'm partially bragging cause this job is like a dream come true for me and I'm real excited, but it's also me wanting to cry because I've wanted to Radiohead for so many years and I thought I as finally gonna get to. I know the obvious correct choice for life but it really hurts to have to skip Radiohead when is already bought the tickets. Ughhhhhh
I'm not too worried about it - yet. One really mediocre lineup doesn't damage Roo in the long term. I'm just hoping that once the major infrastructure improvements are done, some of that funding in the budget will be diverted back to booking quality bands.
Next year will be interesting to see which direction Roo is heading in the long term.
