Do people still make their beds? I dont even bother pretending for the first 3-4 times someone new im seeing sleeps over anymore. #Millennial
Funnily enough, I “make” the bed every night before we get in bed. And by “make”, I mean I straighten the pillows and comforter before we climb in and sleep.
But I stopped putting decor pillows on the bed unless someone is coming over. The view from our bedroom is the best view in the apartment, so if people are coming over 9 times out or 10 we’ll go through the bedroom out to the balcony, so I have to make it.

My girlfriend likes having the bed made, therefore I like having the bed made.
I make mine at times. I have been recently. The ladyfriend doesn't make it, but she straightens the covers on the bed when she gets up. I guess it counts as half made or made without the finishing touches.
I don't use a flat sheet and just sleep under my comforter. So I straighten pillows and the comforter every morning.
Told my mom I wanted a fitted sheet for Christmas, and she thought it was weird that I didn’t use a flat sheet.
I generally move a lot in my sleep, so Josh and I each have our own comforter. The bed almost never gets made, and if it does, it’s not by me. But it is also frequently in use by one of the dogs most days. If we made it in the morning, she’d just mess it up because she likes to rearrange the blankets to suit her before she lays on them.

When my wife and I were dating, I guess I convinced her that I made the bed constantly and she started doing it. I'm out of bed first every day, and so she makes the bed. I think I pulled a real life Jedi mind trick on accident.
I make my bed every morning, but my two dogs always cuddle in it and mess it up by the time my girlfriend gets home. The joys of dogs!
I don't let my dogs in the bedrooms when I am not home. All doors are closed. They prefer the front room, which has two futons, but if I allow them in there, they cuddle under/on the futon blankets and bark at EVERYTHING that walks/flies/drives in front of our house. If I let them in the bedroom, Maya would live on my bed and Tyger would be under the covers, and would probably pee on the bathmat in the bathroom because he is a dick.

My mom never understood the whole no flat sheet thing. I get really hot when I sleep and it gets all tangled and makes me hotter. We have a queen bed with a California king comforter so that we don't need separate blankets. We used to have separate before because I toss and turn, through off blankets and am basically an oven at night.

I straighten it when I get up in the morning. I don't full-on make it though. #GenX
this is exactly what we do #genx. but we fully make up the bed too from time to time, typically when we put clean sheets on the bed.
so do some of you not use a fitted sheet at all? i don't understand? so you just put a flat sheet on top of the bare mattress and tuck it in? why would you not use a fitted sheet? don't all sheet sets just come with a fitted sheet? can you even buy a sheet just separate from a set? or a fitted sheet just separate from a set? if not what happened to the fitted sheet that came with your set?

The other way around - I use a fitted sheet, but don't use a flat sheet. When I do (like if I'm at a hotel or my mom's), I generally kick them off during the night, so at home, I just sleep under a comforter.
I make my bed every single morning and no other person really sees it. I even put both shams and two throw pillows on it. I'm not super meticulous about it though, I don't perfectly straighten or tuck in the sheet.
....however everything else in my room is a mess. I pile my clothes on my bed. So I won't put my clothes away, but I will make the bed under it.
(and postjack, some people don't use the flat sheet. I don't think anyone said they skip the fitted.)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Am I the only one who has to make my bed everyday? I don't always do it first thing before getting ready... but when I walk through and the bed isn't made it really bothers me... So then I make it.

I didn't use a flat sheet for most of my life. I don't like being hot when I sleep, but my wife is a damn furnace and my dog likes to curl up by my butt, so now I just use the sheet and fold the comforter over on the wife. For about half the year I don't use any covers at all.

Making my bed is always the very first thing I do. Sometimes I am even doing the peepee dance while I make it because I HAVE to do it immediately.

Half the year our comforter gets pulled down and folded the foot of the bed and we just use the flat sheet. It's folded in such a way that if it does get cold, you can just grab it and pull it up.

I have to go to the bathroom first and put my contacts in and grumble to myself about how much I hate mornings... Only then can I make my bed.

Yes, you can def buy individual sheets. I worked at bed bath and beyond and pretty much every sheet set we had also was sold in individual pieces as well (flat, fitted, standard pillow cases, & king size pillow cases).
And I also don’t use the flat sheet. I usually just leave it in the little bag that the sheet set came in and then I may use it time to time as ground cover when I paint or to cover the table when carving pumpkins or something like that. And depending on the sheet itself. If it’s really nice or a weird material (like satin) I don’t do that, but I’ve done it before. I’ve also used flat sheets for camping at bonnaroo. I have to have some sort of cover when I sleep, but normal blankets are too hot.
Other than fixing the blankets before I get to sleep, I haven't made my bed in at least a decade. Our cats are the only ones that see our bed, so I don't really care.

I said it was the first thing I do in the morning...well, actually I wake up, take the puppies out, feed them, go pee and THEN make my bed. I like to lay my clothes out on a nice bed. I don't like a messed up bed, it bothers me big time.
Wake up 6am Brew coffee Drink glass of water while coffee is brewing Drink half a cup of coffee or so while catching up on news (and inforoo and front page of reddit) 30 min stationary bike, more water during this Let dogs out Drink other half of cup of coffee Shower Shave (traditional wet shave, takes about 15 minutes) brush teeth Get dressed Moisturize! typically out the door by 7:30am or so.
