Hey everyone, waitingfornextyear had a seizure on 3/14 and was hospitalized for 9 days. During that time he went on a ventilator and messed up his shoulder and had to have a major surgery on his shoulder. Due to the seizures we found that he had 3 brain tumors. One of which needed to be removed. So during that 9 days he had 2 major surgeries. We have had a whirlwind of a couple weeks. Back in September we found out through an ER visit that he had a kidney tumor that had to be removed and we thought that was the end of cancer. It appears cancer has come back with a vengeance. I (his wife) feels weird about sharing this but we are 8 year Bonnaroo vets. He proposed to me at Bonnaroo in 2011 in front of the arch. I felt this might be a good place to share with our Bonnaroo family. He is still struggling and needs love and support. In addition to kind words for him his sister created a gofundme for our family. We have a son with Autism as well and not many family members in Columbus where we live to help. It has been a struggle for me to even balance my time with my son and my husband in the hospital or even just caring for him at home. If you are interested in the gofundme here is the link. www.gofundme.com/scottscooterlevengood Not to mention it was Scott's first day on his new job. So he has no income now so whatever is donated is greatly appreciated. Hopefully we can get him back to Roo as soon as we can.

I'm on unemployment and my wife just went out on maternity leave so we don't have any cash to play with here but you're in my thoughts. Fingers crossed that everything turns around quickly...

Alright time to wrap this shit up. I don't care if you gave us the Chocolate Factory. Times Up on this motherfucker.
UGH.
personal feelings. after many years of being able to selectively enjoy his music (esp. previous to the large amount of women who have come out the last 4 years about this "dungeon" situation) - I burned that list down today. It's just too clear that this guy is a predator using a sociopathic charisma-power based structure and it's time to get this motherfucker in handcuffs.
Feel good about it because at least their label/representation is trying to keep them as a viable group. I would much rather see an artist at the level of Vulfpeck (another good example is Portugal.TM) get some shine, and some paychecks then hear another song with Adam Levine.
A study in the U.K. has revealed that if you go to a concert every 2 weeks, you could add 9 years to your life. Haha. I'll be living to 200 bitches!
If you’re a human and alive right now, you’ve no doubt seen an insane range of health and science trends that supposedly extend your lifespan–from getting out in sun, to avoiding the sun at all costs–and a huge range of dietary guidelines, many of which are wholly at odds with one another. However, scientists may have finally stumbled upon one health tip that we can all get behind: going to concerts.
A new scientific study by O2, sponsors of London’s world-famous entertainment venue, The O2; and Patrick Fagan, an expert in behavioral science and Associate Lecturer at Goldsmith’s University, has revealed that attending concerts once every two weeks could increase life expectancy by nine years.
According to the findings detailed by O2’s press release, the study found that “just 20 minutes of gig-time result[ed] in a significant 21% increase in feelings of well being,” with “additional scholarly research directly link[ing] high levels of wellbeing with a lifespan increase of nine years pointing to a direct link between gig-going and longevity.” The release continued:
The findings come off the back of bespoke psychometric and heart-rate tests at a range of well-being activities – including gig-going, yoga and dog walking. The gig experience increased participants feelings of wellbeing by 21% – with key markers across the happiness spectrum showing increases, including feelings of self-worth (+25%) and closeness to others (+25%) whilst mental stimulation climbed by an impressive 75%. Accompanying research showed a positive correlation between regularity of gig attendance and wellbeing. Those who attend live concerts once a fortnight and more were the most likely to score their happiness, contentment, productivity and self-esteem at the highest level (10/10), suggesting that regularly experiencing live music is the key to building a long-standing improvement to wellbeing.
Notes Fagan, the scientist behind the study, “Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness, and wellbeing – with fortnightly or regular attendance being the key. Combining all of our findings with O2’s research, we arrive at a prescription for a gig a fortnight which could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life.”
Given that The O2, a giant music venue, commissioned the scientific study, there are likely some pretty huge biases affecting the study—I mean, the press release announcing the study’s findings was literally being used to link to the venue’s upcoming shows, which invites some pretty warranted skepticism. However, if you’re going to use the study as one more point to justify your show-going habits, then, by all means, be our guest. We certainly are.

Barely been posting for the past couple of weeks because school is kicking my ass. I'm about to spend my spring break on campus manufacturing a formula car, which is pretty dope
Has anyone here ever rented a limo in a major city before?
We're trying to price out what we should budget for transportation for our wedding (hotel > ceremony > reception, then a "getaway car" (this is apparently what every company actually calls it) to take just us from the reception to the hotel.) But neither of us have ever rented a limo or luxury car like this before so I'm not sure what the expect in pricing. We shot off a couple of quote requests just to see what comes back, but since I have no basis for what it costs I have no idea what a high, low, or average quote would look like.
I was originally set on the idea of hiring a "kombi" (that's what they call them here) bc they're super cute and fit right into our wedding style and our personalities, but the price was like double what I'm willing to spend on transportation.
Anyways, if anyone has ever hired a limo before what did it cost? And I'm assuming it'd cost more in major cities, thus if you've done it specifically in major cities that'd help a lot too so I can compare a little bit. Bc everything in Sydney costs so much more than other cities in Australia....
And, what are people's opinions on wedding DJs? We found a place that basically does what is essentially a high quality jukebox & karaoke machine hire. but for $150 more they offer a DJ/MC package. I like the idea of choosing our own music and having karaoke would be a neat little touch I think (though we can still do karaoke with the DJ), but having a DJ to take care of picking the music and announcing the bridal party and kinda help segueway the evening from dinner & speeches to dancing would be nice. I feel like without someone there to do that it'd just be a little bit of an awkward "ok, soooo... now dancing??" moment to get us from each part of the night to the next.... But DJs can also be terrible.
Yes, I'm asking you guys to help me plan my wedding. I've never been to a normal wedding before (I've been to a Taiwanese wedding, but that was a whoooole different experience) and I need help guys!!

Thoughts, insights?
Definitely spring for someone who can manage the evening. It makes it so much easier when the DJ can direct everyone but otherwise stays out of the way. My friends who have had good DJs look for people they get along with, who have good song books and will listen when you tell them what NOT to play. Others who have just stuck to a Spotify shuffle situation have always felt a little disjointed and it can be a pain to direct everyone with out a microphone.

This is exactly why I'm leaning towards the extra $150 for the DJ... I just don't want to have to worry about coordinating the day of events when I'm going to be busy talking to people and everything. I really don't want to have to worry about any logistics on the day of...
Luckily, this place has a lot great reviews and has apparently been doing this for like 30 years or something (according to their website). You can also see their songbook online and submit a list of songs you want to hear and don't want to hear before the day, which I thought was pretty cool.
