Just applied for a position as Operations Manager of a LN-owned venue. Was tempted to tell them that my salary requirements do not include my service fee.

Feel free to redirect this question as I'm sure this has been discussed in length elsewhere, but is there a credit card y'all recommend for collecting miles to use on airlines? I primarily have flown United my whole life and I've almost exclusively paid my way through the past 10 years with cash (service industry bitch over here) and would like to make the transition into adulthood where spending my money can have more benefits than just lunch. Answer this however you see fit. Or tell me to go somewhere else as this thought is mostly not random.
edit. and I'm off for work, so when I don't respond to any of this until tomorrow, that's why. Cheers.
I just noticed that no one on here really talks about MMJ anymore. Maybe it's due to some of the oldheads becoming disinterested in Bonnaroo and newer members having less of a connection with past Bonnaroo favorites or MMJ's discog in general, but man, I remember when not a day would pass that I didn't hear about how someone nutted themselves when they saw MMJ live and Jim James looked slightly in their direction. My, how things have changed.

one or two just 'aight albums probably contributed to the disinterest as well.
i still like MMJ, and I understand needing to change up the style to keep things fresh, but I wish they would've kept rockin'.
One of my kids looked at me tonight and said he wanted a dress for his birthday. Later, when they were climbing on bunk beds, he informed his brother that Dylan was a knight and he was a princess and then told me I was a dragon.
Locking this memory away for a possible talk later on down the road.

I currently use the southwest credit card(s). they come with a 40 or 50k point bonus (changes periodically) when you sign up, which is good for about 2 RT flights in the US. There is an annual fee though. What I really like is that you can get both their plus and premier cards at the same time, which can get you 100k points. SW as a company has some major perks when you get 110 points as well, mostly the companion pass - meaning a named individual can fly with you free for the remainder of the year plus one additional calendar year. If you travel a lot with the same person it is definitely worth it. Had it for my daughter for a bit and everytime I booked a flight I could just add her to the itinerary for free. Just hit 108k points, so will be doing it again her shortly. Except for the bonuses, you get 1 point per dollar spent and 2 pts for all dollars spent at southwest (airline tickets, in flight drinks, etc). I also find SW has the easiest rewards program to use as well. I have a ton of AA miles and they have some many restrictions on when and how they can be used its a PITA.
Full disclosure, but if you use my link to sign up I get 10k points too . I am a big fan of the SW card because I want the companion pass. If the companion pass and/or southwest aren't really appealing to you, then I think the Capital One Venture card is great as well. It gets better rewards than SW (2x points, more at certain hotels, discount on TSA precheck, no fee) but it is my oldest line of credit so I don't want to close it, and now I just churn other cards for the sign-up bonus.

Snowman and Postjack already gave you great info but I'll add that I've heard really good things about both of the Chase Sapphire cards. I think they give you the most bang for your buck on points with multiple travel companies.
You should weigh that against the loyalty card for whatever airline you intend to stick with (in your case United) plus the Venture card that Snowman mentioned and see if one stands out. Sites like Credit Karma and Dan's Deals and Points Guy usually have card matrices that let you compare multiple cards at once.
As far as I can tell outside of initial bonus and annual fee they are all relatively close in value. The biggest thing you need to do is pick one program, stick with it, and spend all your money on the card you want benefits from.

Nothing comes close to Chase Sapphire Reserve for me...we've flown to europe twice on points. We're doing it again this winter. The fee is high, but it includes pre-check, access to lounges, and a travel credit.

We use both the Southwest card and Chase Sapphire. I’d recommend either. If you’re comparing fees, I believe the entire annual fee on the Southwest card goes toward travel credit, but only 75% of the Chase Sapphire fees are credits. This may depend on exactly which Chase card you get though, so read carefully.
If you do Sapphire definitely take advantage of the precheck/global entry credit.
There have been so many upsetting and eye-opening stories come to light over the past year or so that any inclination I may have once had to play "He Said, She Said" has gone straight to "She Said".
This paralympian and radio host was invited onto Q&A (news panel discussion show) last night to discuss disabilities. His listeners put him up to drop as many Wu Tang references as possible on the show, which he of course accepted.
What follows has more gold than the Paralympian winners circle.
"If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is 'God is crying.' And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is 'Probably because of something you did.'"

I've decided that every famous man has sexually harassed or assaulted a woman at some point. I guess that's the only way I know how to deal with it.
a friend of mine is working on a project around how people discover live music events and how we can make that process simpler & more personalized. can y'all plz take a few minutes to procrastinate other life stuff & take his survey? 🙏🏻

That would be cool if you could eat a good food with a bad food and the good food would cover for the bad food when it got to your stomach. Like, you could eat a carrot with an onion ring and then they would travel down to your stomach, then when they get there, the carrot would say, "It's cool, he's with me."

Goat cheese and strawberries taste amazing together. Made an arigula salad tonight and topped it with fresh berries, cheese, and asparagus. So good I skipped out on the dressing.

I used to work at a place with a salad just like that, sans asparagus. I think it had pecans also.
