I have random questions. Teach me, inforoo.
1) Say it's Monday night/Tuesday morning. How sick do you have to be for it to be legitimate to call in sick for Tuesday through Friday then and not do it day by day for the rest of the week? 2) If you are by yourself at a fast food place and need to hit the restroom before you leave, where do you put your drink while you go? Into the restroom with you, leave it at your table and hope it doesn't get tossed, run it out to the car then go back in to potty, etc.?

They were both generated during my work day today, but they are not connected.

1) My place of work requires a doctor's note for 3 or more days back to back. So I'd probably just take it day by day. If this rule wasn't in place I'd have to be nearly hospitalized to ask for the rest of the week off on a Tuesday.
2) DEFINITELY leave it on the table or put it in the car if you really need it. Bringing food/drink in the bathroom should never happen.

I'm curious about #2 as well. I usually throw the cup away when really I'd love to keep it and refill, or skip the bathroom until later.
Absent some sort of medical procedure or chronic condition I don't see how #1 is possible. Then again I rarely get sick.
#2 - Assuming people aren't hovering waiting to sit down, just leave it on the table. At a typical fast food joint odds are about zero it would get thrown out in the few minutes you're in the bathroom.

A few weeks ago ,the how often we change our sheets discussion got me thinking we could use a thread for matters just like these. The answers to all of life's little questions.
1) I've never been a call in sick person. I've worked through Mono, strep, a bunch of other ailments, against doctors wishes, etc...... Just never been a stay home sick kinda guy. For me to call out that long would take an injury preventing me from doing something, just me though, 2) I would finish the drink usually but on the off chance I didn't, it's probably coming in the bathroom with me.

I see the second question as basically between my fear of germs and my fear of people messing with my drink when I am not watching it. Taking it out to the car was a terrible option today because it was pouring rain.

For the 2nd question, if it's not busy, I go up to the counter and say "can I leave this here while I use the restroom?", that way I know it won't get thrown out or Quacked with.

I never said my fears were rational, EAP. elimsnéttikyzarc, I left it on the sink and only touched it again after my hands had been washed. Boneroo, yes, free refills all day.

The sink is still in the bathroom. :( I didn't realize it was an option to bring the beverage in the stall with you, haha.

I figured that I would be okay since I never had to touch the bottom ring of the cup. If anything, I feel the bottom of the cup would already be compromised by sitting it in the cupholder of my work car since nobody ever cleans it. Like ever.
