This is the first I've heard of a meat and three myself. After a quick Google search, I know that I've been to that type of location and love them. I've just never heard it called that before.
I was born in and raised by people from Florida, so I'm not really from the South.
God bless you for recognizing Florida isn't really the South. You hear that, Scrog?
Yeah, I got to go look this meat and three thing up too.
I actually been to the area Scrog's from. He lives in the border area between the South and whatever the hell Florida became. It's kind of an odd mix of both worlds.

It took me moving to the south to know what a meat & three meant. When I was in Memphis there was a fast food place called Abbay's that did the meat & three as combo meals. I always had veggie combos. The sweet tea was good too.
I've never heard of a Meat and Three (honestly, it sounds kinda kinky). Like FuzzyWarbles, I have seen the actual choice before, I've just never heard that specific term. Most specifically at Katy Mae favorite BBQ place that she brought me to But I didn't opt for that choice. She got a giant container of brisket that we picked bites out of like savages while driving
My sister just moved to a town near Jacksonville, FL. I didn't think it was southern either but she spends a lot of time convincing me that it is. All the biscuits and gravy served at the hospital, half the bookstore is bible related, the words people use (ie. fixin), accents of those who aren't transplants, sweet tea everywhere...
Although, my first sign should have been the guy I was chatting with while waiting for Scroggie, Sugar, et al to come collect Zen and I at Wanee. He was in his 50s or so. He was telling me how he'll never get on the plane because they all explode and he wouldn't be able to carry his gun.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
listening to a guy play the didgeridoo at my daughter's fall festival. my kid's school > your kid's school
bonus: they now have music playing from an iPod, and the song "Little Lion Man" has started twice and gotten all the way to the chorus before someone realized it contains an inappropriate word and changed it. btw, the school is for kids from toddlers-middle school, and the director signs every email with "peace." of course I am not offended but I am quite sure at least one of these mamas might have been.
also, IDK whose iPod this is but they are my musical soulmate. now playing: "Sweet Caroline." yesssss
Those colors are so photoshopped it hurts my eyes! But yeah, New Zealand is definitely up there.
Yes there is some big time manipulation done on that photo, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. Anyway, if you ever get the chance, GO TO NEW ZEALAND. I spent my time on the North island, it was pretty awesome and a long time ago. I have some pictures but not in digital format. :-) The South island has some great places too, but I can certainly vouch for the North. :-)

Certain parts, yes, we have our southern folk and they seem normal compared to the rest of the crazy funks in the state. No doubt about it, Florida is f'ing crazy! I mean look at us, like really look at us, literally on a map we are the penisula of the US. The Florida Keys make the skeet-skeet we spew on the back of Cuba. We have a mind of our own down and are thinking on a different level, with our nutz. It is what makes us special.
I think a meat and three is more associated with "country" than southern. I likve in NC and it's in places here but also found it up in a diner in upstate NY years ago.

I've never heard this before. I'm guessing it's a breakfast meat and 3 eggs?

Reasonable guess!
No, to country folk it is a selection of meat plus 3 veggies/sides.
