Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
These people live about three hours away from me. I will see if they're willing to loan their lights to Camp Inforoo next year for all our disco dancing needs. I hope you hippies are cool with destroying the planet for a few days of Santa Claus raving.
And on an unrelated note (this is Random Thoughts, after all), I had a ticket to see Wolfmother last night but ended up skipping it. Blah.
It was a "secret" show, so tickets were only $13 including fees, no biggie - but I always try to make it out to a show no matter how I'm feeling. The only other show I can remember intentionally missing was on the night my dog died a couple years ago. I didn't even have a good excuse this time. Sometimes I feel like Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon - gettin' too old for this shiz!

Wolfmother with the original lineup was an amazing show I saw while in college. We drove from upstate NY to Cleveland in some rundown neighborhood and had an awesome time at their show. Didn't know what to expect and loved the whole thing. Lots of energy and the songs were great live. We drove back home through a snowstorm. 6 hours there. Concert. 6 hours home.

Crazy good time. I wonder how they are now.
Well, thaaaaanks - 'cuz I wasn't regretting it enough already!
It's also not helping that they were playing at one of my favourite venues - but that's also the same club where I had my aforementioned questionable encounters with tequila on Saturday night, so there were other factors at play. Oh well... they're locals, so I'm sure I'll get plenty of other chances to catch them in the future. They're rumoured to replace Blur at Big Day Out, but that's a very weak replacement IMO.
I always think it's a bit weird when a band loses most or all of its original members. It reminds me of that old philosophical question about whether a ship is still the same ship if you replace every board and rivet. I suppose either way, the ship still gets you places, and the concert still makes you dance. Sadly, this captain missed the boat.
For some reason "Maman died today. Or maybe yesterday; I'm not sure." was the first thing I thought upon seeing this.
I read that book in French, talked about it in class for weeks, wrote a paper... and I can barely remember more than that line. That and that life is meaningless.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I'm going to have to cook my turkey on my gas grill, since my oven has been pronounced as legally dead. The remainder of my dinner will be cooked in my toaster/convection oven, in which I am going to cook a pie and a small ham. Then I'm packing up the whole works and driving 2 hours south to take it to my fathers' house.
I've always been a survivor and this will test my ingenuity, I figure! I'm going with the challenge. NO purchased dinner for my family!

You are a better woman than I. I am stopping by Honey Baked Ham to pick up the side items to go with Harold (my mailed to me smoked turkey). And I'm off work and my oven is operational. I'm just quacking lazy.

Well la di da - lookitchu, Miss Fancypants!
To be honest, not a whole lot really happens in the book in terms of action, as it's mostly his internal thoughts. But here's a quick plot refresher for ya, Bonz:
Mom dies. DGAF. Killed a guy on a beach because the sun was in my eyes. DGAF. Went to trial for murder. DGAF. Sentenced to execution. DGAF. Speak with a priest who tells me life and religion are not pointless. Finally GAF and assault him too. Life is good again, just in time to get decapitated tomorrow. The end.

This is beyond priceless! The timing is especially apropos since a student asked me yesterday if I like "CamUSS" (their pronunciation, of course). If only I'd had your synopsis to share!

Thank you kindly!
I first read this book a month or two before I had my brain surgery. Somehow it must have crept deep into my subconscious - because for the first several days afterwards, I was absolutely, 100% convinced that I lived in Algeria. As in, I would not take no for an answer. That was a new one even for the doctors.
There are 4 people out of 35 in my office today. Needless to say I haven't done anything.
We're not at those levels, but we're certainly short. 3 people in my section have appointments scheduled for today. Why in the hell would you schedule anything for the day before Thanksgiving?
p.s. they had a choice in what day they scheduled these things.
