I need to take out some kind of platonic personal ad, or something.
Wanted: Music, camping, hiking and merry-making enthusiast. Must have a passion for music festivals and shows, art, poetry and literature, cinema, amazing food, wine. Tolerance for late night record spinning, fires and flying hula-hoop head trauma. Willingness to keep track of my finances and do my laundry in exchange for gourmet-ish meals and contagious laughter is a plus. Organizational skills and the ability to plan out hikes will be traded for awesome campsites and free use of my piles of music and books. Absolutely must be willing to live in a VW bus for at least a few weeks at a time. Mushroom, bird and constellation identification abilities will be rewarded with cake. Would prefer a left-leaning, politically minded individual who doesn't mind protesting on occasion.
All A/S/L will be considered, however you MUST love Wilco, MMJ, Ryan Adams and The National. Or at least pretend to.
I don't meet your minimum requirements.
It's Wilco, isn't it? You can't even pretend, can you? I think you are grandfathered in, anyway.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Triple post extravaganza.
After I wrote that, and reread it, I thought to myself "I know a solid 6 people who I could have written that about". And a great mix of whacky and wild, lovely and thoughtful, introspective and intelligent. And then dozens more who maybe don't fit line by line, but bring so much more to the table. What a great group of people I am surrounded by. So YAY ME!!

"Honey, it isn't you. It's Wilco". Said nobody, ever. Except Chico.
Let's be real. I'd just not call a Wilco girl back after our first date. Or if she snuck it in later I'd just snapchat a breakup pic
What is a breakup snap? I'm curious to know what the content of such a snap would be. I'd hope for the best case scenario of a recording of NSync's "Bye, Bye, Bye." Hopefully not Chris Brown's "Deuces." Because that's awful.
I wish John Legend would step out of his comfort zone a bit more. He's so talented and his voice is amazing, but he doesn't really stray from the hip-soul-pop that he does. He does it well, but man, if he dug into some groovy blues or hooked up with some new producers who pushed his boundaries, I think he could take things up a notch.

It should be a dick pic with the caption, "you're too awful for this D"

What's the acceptable amount of time someone can let a child wail uncontrollably before they go from "firm and principled parent" to "stubborn asshole parent"?
I seen some incredibly lazy parenting on the train back to New Haven on Sunday. The kids were running around, one was crawling on the floor and wiping his hands on his face. Only once was she bothered to actually chase them down and get them to stop misbehaving.

Does that album with The Roots count as something different?

I have to be the crotchety ass parent here and say that you can't necessarily call a situation lazy or bad parenting based solely on an out of context situation. I would like to consider myself a good parent, but I would be lying my ass off if I tried to say that I have always acted like I should with the boys in public. Sometimes, you are just too tired, stressed, distracted, sad, angry, whatever to do much in the way of parenting aside from making sure they don't kill themselves or get abducted. All of the parents in your situations could be horrible, but they aren't necessarily horrible just because they let their kids run wild for a bit or let them cry longer than they probably should have.

I haven't heard it; I'll have to check it out.
Do it. Its kinda uneven, but there are some great tracks that rank up as some of my ffavorites on the roots catalog. Im not a huge john legend fan, but I really like that album.
