He's playing Knoxville at the end of this month, and I had no idea who he was when I was putting up posters for him. Should I remedy this?
He's from tupelo, MS and he used to play around Memphis a lot. He's bluesy Americana, with lyrics kinda like a countrified Warren Zevon, or a rougher John Hiatt. He had a really good band the times I've seen him. He grew up as a son of a preacher, so he's got a bit of that gospel/soul/r&B roots sound to him. Definitely worth checking out. Not breaking down any musical barriers, but he's really good at what he does.
this is the first song of his I heard, and kinda sums up his overall style pretty well.
