"ya gotta see them live!" - cliche and stuff. I only ever really liked a couple songs on their albums, and I really tried to get into them before they headlined bonnaroo 2011 and couldn't make it through a whole album. but I did really enjoy that set at roo. I feel the same way about them as I do the decemberists.

That does usually end up being the case. There's been a bunch of bands that inforooers love that I didn't like that I eventually came around on. Most of them it was from seeing them live, Wilco, The National, LCD. I haven't seen Arcade Fire yet, so we'll see.

Yeah I'm planning on seeing them at Primavera either way. Hoping they do a Wednesday club show like LCD last year so I can see them without worrying about conflicts.

I don't know how you could need a live show to get into LCD, but the others I get. I didn't like wilco until the third time I saw them, at bonnaroo in '04. I still find the national boring after seeing them live. But I like that matt berninger project EL VY from last year. and their stuff for Day of the Dead was excellent.
