I don't know too much about them, I know I don't like Big Boat or Gordo's solo stuff as far as studio stuff goes, and I know how I feel about the jam genre in general. But just from this listen FYF (jokes aside I do like it), Slave to the light, NO2, He Ent to the Bog (where I'm at currently) have all been pretty good and aren't all that 'jammy'. I'm interested to hear how they play those live.
FYF is so much fun to hear live. Fun fact, I was at the Charlotte 7/2/2010 show when they played Fuck Your Face for the first time since 4/29/1987 (1,413 show gap).
N20 they've only played 8 times live.
He Ent to the Bog has never been played live.
Slave to the Traffic Light, on the other hand, is a big song. It's a really stunning song to hear live, one of Phish's more emotional songs. You can pick pretty much any version and it will be awesome, but I'd recommend the version off LivePhish 12/07/1997, which is available on all streaming services. It's kind of advanced level Phish, Trey is really messing around with some interesting tones, and it peaks beautifully.
I know you didn't ask for recommendations, I just can't help myself sometimes. Feel free to disregard my suggestion, it's your journey.
Suggestions are tight. Yeah I was wondering about those being hard to do live since there's a lot of production effects more so than the other songs I've heard. Maybe one day I'll be at the first to the bog show.
Just found out they are playing a house show in September and got wicked excited. Then I reminded myself that I fucking hate house shows.
Ha. Reminds me of a year or three ago when Thou announced a show in Knoxville. /usr/bin/simp and I were pretty hype behind it until we saw it was at a house in Knoxville that was established for house shows but had recently ran into troubles with the neighbors. The event page had repeated warnings about driving as few cars as possible to the venue and the strong possibility of police involvement. Both of us decided against going because neither of us wanted to deal with that. Sadly, that ended up being the house's final show to my knowledge.
Side note: the person behind most/all of the booking for there lives in Richmond now (of course).

That sucks. Did they not try and find a space for it? I used to book shows at Unitarian churches and VFW halls before I booked in a house. Options are out there but people get lazy. I'm so anti- house show that most of the time I just wait for a proper show.

RVA added another two art galleries the plethora of DIY spaces recently. Rumor mill has it someone just bought an old skating ring, too. It's a happening place. I can see where people would want to move here. Unless you're smellycat and just can't take the heat.
Don't let the "glam" fool ya. One of the better records I've heard this year. Plus, they're from Australia. Who doesn't love some good Australian post-punk?

Photay - Onism First listen edit. It's like a slightly dancier Nosaj Thing. Going on album cover alone was the only reason I listened to this and that was a smart fuckin' call. Good job, me.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
