Repeat all day. The last time I smiled this hard was the first time I heard Cap’n Jazz. I’d say It’s the same vein if it Cap’n Jazz had female vocals and they were even sloppier.

YOB - Our Raw Heart
This is such a powerful piece of music. Apparently much of the recording of this album was done while the guitarist/vocalist was recuperating in the hospital after a near death experience/emergency surgery. He didn't even know how much longer he had to live and was trying to get down as much material as possible. Explains a lot about the title, subject matter and impact of the music. The last few minutes of the title track have gotten me every time. Right up there with Sleep as my favorite metal release of the year.
less "experimentation" than his previous solo efforts. Apt title, got some straightforward power pop songs fed through an overdrive pedal copped from thin lizzy. even the vocals are distorted for most of the record. A collection of tunes that at times flirts with psych rock, bares neil young-esque riffs, and brings in some female harmonies for a 50's rock n roll sound. I think the biggest weakness is some of the lyrics seem a bit hamfisted and the vocal delivery at times seems a bit like he did it live and just kept the first take.
Indigo De Souza - I Love My Mom First listen edit. Curiously scrolling through the Hopscotch lineup, the front-woman was giving me Alicia Bognanno hair; I had to check it out.
