Not to mention that of all the troll-ish individuals on here, emoney actually contributed something. He made threads about bands, he gets excited about things at roo, he contributes to the clue solving process, and other things of that nature. He is far from the most rude or irritating person on this board and that is why it's frustrating. Also, Jess are you honestly unsure of why you keep getting brought up in this conversation? Your relentless denial does not change the fact that you rub many people here the wrong way at times when you start busting out your world class snark on people like me, nod, and Juggs.

Really? Rubbing people the wrong way is not trolling. I will tell you what I do not now and will never appreciate is bullying, and when I see it I will push back, this is what ultimately irritates both Nod and Juggs. Do you really think I give a damn about Skrillex? I just hate the TML culture of dog piling on anyone with a different than inforoo mainstream opinion. Something all three of you along with some others tend to excel at.
Also this conversation is about being banned if you feel I have committed a offense serious enough to get me banned bring it out in the open or shut the Quack up about how I deserve to be banned.
Not really, he started that thread and said specifically it was so he could talk about a band he liked and explicitly stay out of a thread that was designed to piss off fans of someone he likes. At that point he started getting attacked in there, and I got irritated myself.
If I started a no Bon Iver/Radiohead/Whiney Indie Crap thread do you really thin people would have stayed out of it? Nodepression got what he wanted he made a thread to antagonize people and it did. Then when someone backed off he kept on coming and as he admitted tried his best to ruin it. When he got retaliation he then started complaining to everyone involved. I linked that thread because as long as we are talking about acts of summers breeze in a sacgery threatening to ruin (or stop ruining) someones thread like he did is about a 9 on my scale of measurement.
I am pretty sure emoney did not only get banned for complaining about the karma system, I would think that it is possibly his 6 months of incessant trolling that did him in at the end.
The irony of the guy who posted Huey Lewis photos in a thread to troll & destroy that thread calling out someone for doing something nearly identical is not lost on me, by the way.
And, as I previously stated, I think anyone (including people I like) trying to be territorial over a thread are kidding themselves. I still don't get why you're bringing up NoD when I'm not discussing him.
And the thing is, emoney didn't incessantly troll inforoo. He had a lot of positive contribution, but because he pissed you off by being one of many people messing around in a particular thread you make it some personal vendetta against him. And that's what it is, it's not you being objective, so let's just punt that line of thinking. You didn't like emoney, so obviously you'll support any decision that keeps him from posting. But I guess people bringing his community contributions to the forefront will be swept under the rug because he doesn't like the karma system, he's sarcastic, and posts funny pictures of a little lady boy with face piercings (I'm generalizing, I'm aware).
Unless I see someone's negativity as attacking another person, I generally stay out of it or try to at least be funny about the disagreement. Emoney doesn't attack people, he points out logical flaws and hypocritical behavior. People get all twisted because he's generally right. Juggs is similar, but he's nicer about it, I guess. I dunno, I don't think they're all that different to be honest. No one seemed to cry when Juggs was posting random RHCP lyrics in that thread. Smh...

I trolled one thread for 2 hours and stopped when asked to by a moderator. Emoney continuously trolled the other thread until he got it locked. Do you see the difference now?

Also I trolled the Radiohead thread to make a point about how Flanzo, MC, Nodepression, emoney, and half the other people in here biznatching about it were trolling Phi's Skrillex thread making sure no one could have a decent conversation and posting over sized images of Phil Collins. Quack you guys if you can take the joke when it is on you, the double standard of it is ok to derail the Skrillex conversation because it is funny, but don't do it to Radiohead is absurd.

I'd just like to point out that as far as I took it, NoD's "No Skrillex/Mau5/Bassnectar/etc." thread wasn't purely antagonistic, but was rather set up as a place to discuss artists who were outside of that circle in a context as potentials for the festival. In other words, it wouldn't be the same as if you started a "No Whiny Indie" thread, because his thread wasn't strictly a protest thread - the title was just to delineate that the purpose was to talk about possible EDM acts outside of that group. That's all.

Also, to whoever said that PJBuckeye is the biggest troll on here, I wholeheartedly agree. I don't think I've ever seen him actually contribute something other than ignorance. At least goons like nicthedic85 openly admit their trollishness.

So, it's okay to troll if you're proving a point? I didn't know you were a mod, because this sounds like you were trying to teach people a lesson. You're not our dad, Jess, and while I'm sure you meant well in just trying to stick up for your buddy, no one was attacking him personally. Just an act that he liked a lot. So you were proving a point, on a musical discussion board, about not talking negatively about a "musician". On an internet discussion board.....about music.
I've had my musical taste ripped on while posting here, but I didn't freak out and start taking names for my revenge list.
Also, the mods never told emoney to stop his photo of the day bit. Probably because it had 17 likes and 0 dislikes, meaning people enjoyed it. The first dislike he got was when he posted the like/dislike totals, which you disliked because it proved you wrong.
I'm a utilitarian, and I say emoney did more good than bad, so that's what should be the deciding factor.

Also I swear to Thom Yorke, Jess you have called more people on this board "jerkstores" than Juggs, me (I'd be hard pressed to find any post where I've called anyone anything to be honest), or Flanz, the triumvirate of evil you've set up in your previous posts.
Internet message board, moderated by unpaid people who do their best to not let everything completely slip to sh*t - not the SCOTUS. I can understand your confusion, though.
"another reason why our moderators are so great!!!111!"
this guys being a bigger douche than emoney right now, you should give yourself a warning level
What have I done to piss in your particular bowl of wheaties recently?
You must be confused (you usually are), I never even mentioned you in this post. You think you're far more important than you are.
Hey Jess just for the record I don't actually have anything against you, I think you are a good poster the majority of the time. I enjoy reading your posts the majority of the time. All I want, all I ever wanted, was for you to be able to acknowledge that you can be an jerkstore with the best of them sometimes. If it makes you feel better I will admit that I have often been an jerkstore too.

No, because everyone involved, even Skrillex fans, mostly enjoyed emoney's Skrillex photos of the day. No one even so much as pretended to find your Huey Lewis stuff amusing. Phi did get a little butthurt at first but, again, did not really reserve the right to do so since he did the same thing in our "no skrillex/mau5" thread (which was not antagonistic. It wasnt the "post here to hate on skrillex" thread, it was just a thread for electronic that ISN'T the same malarky that every fest throws on their lineup.) no matter how much we asked him to stop.
The fact is that it can definitely be argued that emoney has been rude and antagonistic to some people. But the same could be said for you, Jess. and many others. You say that "rubbing people the wrong way" isn't trolling, but thats really the only thing emoney is guilty of. If he is a troll then you are a troll because you guys act the exact same way towards opposite groups. emoney is sarcastic and slighty rude towards certain mods and old school members, and you're sarcastic and slightly rude towards certain newer posters that you insist are "hipsters" who only do things because they're "cool." The only point I've been trying to make the whole time is that you and emoney are not so different in your behavior, but its more acceptable on here for you to be snarky, rude, and sarcastic to a bunch of "hipsters" than it is for any of us to be snarky, rude, and sarcastic to you and certain mods.
As much as you want to say he is, emoney is not a troll. He has posted many serious, contributing things in many different threads I've posted in, and although he may have a sarcastic edge to him, it's nothing that nobody with any tiny bit of thickened skin can't handle. Finally, it's not like me and him are pals or anything. We disagree quite often and we have both been "rude" and sarcastic to each other many times. So I'm not just arguing against his ban because I'm his e-friend, I'm doing it because I think it was an extremely hypocritical action on the mods' part.
Atleast emoney's troll posts were light-hearted and he contributed more often than not. This pjbuckeye guy trolls non-stop and even takes personal shots. I haven't read one of his posts that was remotely funny.

I like Emoney, I don't see any of his posts that would ever get him banned. I think his name just became one that was, like on all boards, the token troll. His reputation was more powerful than the reality. He wasn't much of a troll and that certainly wasn't his main objective. With the sang pictures he just became well known. Surely people complaining about one another isn't enough to get someone banned. Emoney wasn't in every thread all the time so I don't really see what the big deal is. Of all this biznatching and moaning it seems everyone should learn to ignore the posters who they don't like and move on.
i was told the sig wasn't the reason he was banned. but i'm sure it helped draw more attention to him. i can see this from all angles pretty much. emoney admittedly trolls sometimes, he wants that attention, he wants people to get a little riled up. so he shouldn't be surprised or upset that this happened. but also he did make posts that contributed to the board and obviously some people like him. just so happens the group that doesn't like him are mods or friends of mods and they have done him in. that part doesn't really seem fair because there are other people that troll or act like jerkstores on the board and nothing is done to them. it's all in who you know and hangout with really.
Exactly. Emoney and Jess are remarkably similar in that they both sometimes troll but are contributing members of the community a majority of the time. No one is actually calling for Jess to be banned. EMoney shouldn't be banned either.
Really at the end of the day if a mod came in here and wrote out exactly what it was that got emoney banned this wouldn't be so bad. We all know that Inforoo isn't a Democracy (Adam has said so explicitly), but a thorough explanation of what he did wrong would settle this completely. If Emoney actually did something that deserved the ban why can't you tell us what it is.
Yeah, that one time that Jess quit the board for like 24 hours under the pretense of taking his toys and going home foreverz, I felt lost. You need equal weight on each side, otherwise the center will not hold. Falcon/falconer, widening gyre, all that.
