I fail to see the connection between "making multiple posts on a message board about Thing" to "Thing bothers me". Does me posting about the karma system bother you? You have now made multiple posts about me posting about the karma system, so it must bother you. Why does it bother you so much?

let's be real, he has said some inappropriate crap before that WAS hateful. i don't even really know what he did this time, but i still think it is funny you guys act like you are SO SURPRISED. haven't we had an exact thread like this before??? or was that boothead? or were they the same person?
either way. this thread has a lot of testosterone going.

This was going to be my response to the other thread Alberto started before it got deleted. Since people are still under the impression that "suggesting something" was what got him banned I figure i'd post it here.
Our fellow inforoo'er emoney was banned recently after a fair suggestion he made to the forum was presented in a way that did not please our all-holy moderators who decided that was just cause to ban him.
I understand how it would seem that way since we haven't spelled out every single reason he was banned but it's really not because of one thing like you make it seem to be in this post.
It's not just the Skrillex photo of the day stuff (which had a few of you laughing but was intended to annoy/bother a board member.....had someone brought it to a mod's attention that Phi was trolling those threads earlier in the year then someone would have intervened....I know I would have).
It's not just the smartass/snarky responses.
It's not just the passive aggressive reporting of a bunch of Jess's old posts to try and get him in trouble (the thing he was reporting Jess on was his trolling with the Huey Lewis photos but it had already been handled and Jess had already been reprimanded and complied.)
It's not just the Sangreal sig (which I've actually defended him having a lot. We got TONS of complaints about this and not just because of Sangreal's inclusion but because of it in general. I would constantly tell people who complained to use the ignore function if they're afraid of being caught while browsing at school or work)
It's not just the pointing out flaws (in an admittedly flawed system where not all mods can enforce all rules all the time.....we're volunteers with lives that get in the way.....we will miss things)
It's not just because of his posts about the karma function (which weren't received as genuine initially since he doesn't use the karma function and we explained how the two systems were different. His suggestion of "hiding the popularity of posters" wasn't taken as serious considering a lot of his posts have been sarcastic/tongue-in-cheek).
It's not just the duplicate accounts (he's been here long enough to know that's not allowed).
It's not just any one thing. As someone else has stated this was building for a while apparently. He has been banned in the past and let back so it's not like he hasn't been given chances. He has also had plenty of chances to defend himself as he was discussing via PM with a mod until he found out they weren't going to unban them right away. Then he stopped responding. He was also told he could direct his complaints to Adam who owns/runs the board but I don't know if he tried doing that. At some point all the things start to pile up and in a short amount of time from a poster who has had a fair share of complaints in the past.
We see how some of you are defending him and are definitely taking it into consideration but you need to realize this wasn't just a "he pissed one person off so now he's gone".

I don't get the point of this post. Do you want to start a thread where you can tell us the people you don't like?
People are upset about emoney's ban because it seems that a single standard is not applied for all cases. If you didn't just gloss over this thread and assume everyone in here is whining (which they're not, there's an actual discussion taking place), you'd likely have seen that.
This isn't the "who do you want to get banned" thread. This is the "we think Emoney was unjustly banned" thread.
You even just admitted yourself you don't know what he did. None of us do, which is the point of this discussion.
I like how any time a male shows any form of emotional involvement it's "testosterone." The people who are asking the ban be lifted are asking questions, the mods are giving answers where they can. This isn't a pissing contest.
EDIT: Mods, I understand you disagree with this viewpoint and that there is "more to it," so there's no need to address this in my post. Just explaining to EAP what's happening here, and that it's not a bunch of drunk frat boys arm wrestling for Emoney's inforoo life.

I think we have been pretty forthcoming with everything? Multiple accounts before and after he was banned (not just one to argue his point ) Is having more than account not a very well known rule around here, we have banned people before for deleting a dupe and making another. A history of "starting crap", for lack of a better term, that he was warned about more than once. To the point he was given a warning level. And I may be mistaken but I believe it was even raised from the initial level that was given (2). Where does it end? This could not have "out of the blue" he had been warned a lot.
I do appreciate your opinions on the matter. I don't think most boards would allow such a discussion. But, this is not like most message boards and we are all proud of that, at least I am. In the end this is not just my decision alone. You have made your opinions heard and again I appreciate it.

I still don't see how any of those are ban worthy. Hell other than using someone else's picture in a signature I think I am guilty of a similar crime to every single one of those.
Also for the record I have tried dealing with Adam before. That's a dead end. I'm not saying Adam is an assh*le but I am saying he sure acted like one in every interaction I had with him during the TM fiasco.

It is not really the same situation, though. These were all done in a short period of time and you don't have a history of causing problems or being banned (as far as I know).

We are not complaining about the free service, or the people moderating it. We are taking issue with a single decision made by those people, this isn't a personal thing, which you're turning it into. Notice we're not attacking the mods, and vice-versa. So I don't know why you went into 5th gear here, it's really unnecessary.
