Had to miss it last night. But on demand is there for a reason!
In reality, Community is watched by a lot of people, but by network TV standards not so much. Shows that make you think about jokes before you laugh at then are generally not the kind of shows that do well on network TV. People want easy comedy that beats them over the head. Community does have that sometimes, which is why it's still on now, but it also has tons of subtle jokes that a lot of people probably miss.

I started watching this show after I got all caught up with Parks and Rec. I just started season 3 yesterday. But when the new Parks and Rec premiered last week I went ahead and started watching the new Community even though I wasn't caught up. When I saw Omar on Thursday's episode.... yes, head almost exploded.
And if any show should be eliminated from the NBC thursday comedy block, it should be The Office. It's on 7 seasons now, and the show hasn't been the same since Steve Carell left. There are still some funny parts, but its declined considerably from seasons 2-5, as has its ratings. It should hang up its hat now, before jumping any more sharks. There's a saying in tv, "a show is only as good as its leading man." While this isn't true with every show or every type of show, it was for the office. Michael Scott was the heart and soul of Dunder Mifflin.
I would honestly rather 30 rock get the axe than the office. I personally think this season of the office has actually been pretty funny. As funny as it can be without Michael Scott, at least. 30 Rock is just getting more and more tired and it's just the same thing every week.
Community killed it this week. The mental institute scenes were hilarious.
From what I understand, all the shows on NBC's thursday comedy block are getting the short season treatment this year. I'm all for it if it means less filler.
I was never an avid fan of 30 rock, but its good they're getting to bow out with an ending rather than a cancellation. I'm wondering if this is Community's last year as well, or if they're shooting for 'six seasons and a movie'.

30 Rock got a final 13 episode season.
Community got a 13 episode renewal but it's not their final. There's still possibility it comes back after this.
Parks and Recreation got a full 22 episode renewal ;D
The Office was renewed but I"m not sure how many episodes.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
community is definitely my favorite, but while they haven't said this is their final season, the issues surrounding the show like the low ratings, the Dan Harmon/Chevy Chase feud, and the two producers walking away, makes me think that the end could be closer than it seems. Comedy Central did acquire the syndication rights to show the reruns, which helps its chances for longevity.

They gave Britta the ability to float through the air ala Princess Toadstool in Mario 2. Jeff did the Megaman powerslide. Troy was breaking pots ala Zelda. Annie hid the body ala Solid Snake.

I happened to be around a TV last night and watched the video game episode. As someone who played too many video games growing up, it was awesome. So many little nods to classic games.
I loved all of these 3 episodes but did anyone else feel any kind of disconnect between them? It felt like they clearly weren't meant to be aired together but instead as two separate episodes but then got all rushed in due to their hiatus off air.
Anyways, they were all great episodes, although I was kind of hoping Goodman and the AC Repair School would stick around for a little while longer, and I'm glad the Chang takeover plot is over because I thought that got a little tired as well.

They were made before it was known they would be airing together I believe. I don't think it was made on purpose to be a 3-part thing.
Also, I read the video game episode was meant to air first but had to be worked on last because the animation added a lot of time to it. May be why it seems like a random episode and not so focused on the "we need to save the dean" stuff.
