I think they meant a tour, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made touring plans that included Bonnaroo. Seems to make sense for a nostalgic act like that.
Where in the world would Huey Lewis and the News fit on a bill? Would they be in a Bruce Hornsby slot about 4 or 5 lines down or would they be a surefire top 10 on the bill?

Not sure where on the bill but I could see them in a LN spot, or maybe in the Buffalo spot from last year.

They would be like 3rd of 4th line but just wait for Jess to come in here and start pulling out amphitheater seating chart numbers and album sales and tell you they'd be top 5 playing a LN right after one of Phish's 6 sets

Not to burst your bubble but I'd be willing to bet they're working on a tour, not Bonnaroo. I would have stuck to just asking about Bonnaroo, not tour plans in general.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I agree that they would be in the 3rd or 4th line.
When people start talking about placement on the lineup, I always think back to 2008, when B.B. King was billed 15th. I wouldn't have guessed he would have been billed that low, but he was.
If they are touring it wouldn't be surprising to see them at Bonnaroo. So either or is great news and since they didn't say, yes to touring and no to Bonnaroo, there is no reason to think they weren't referring to Bonnaroo.

Sure you do. "The Power of Love" is in like eight jillion movie trailers and is featured in the movies Back to the Future and American Psycho. Guarantee you've heard it.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's actually another song of theirs, "Hip To Be Square," that is featured in American Psycho.
Yeah, come on? Who doesn't know Huey Lewis and the News? They're merely the latest middling 80's act that is suddenly and surprisingly re-gaining popularity with an audience ranging in ages from early-20's to mid-30's based on such foolish reasons as "nostalgia" and "irony." (See also Hall & Oates)
I've really never had a problem with 80s bands like Hall & Oates, Huey Lewis, The Cars, etc. As long as you recognize their place in the music landscape as cheesy but catchy bands, they can be enjoyed on a certain level. I do actually think Hall & Oates were a cut above their contemporaries, though. Those guys are great.

Tried contacting someone else from Deer Tick. Here was the response:
I really have no idea... Wish I could be of better help here, but it’s still totally up in the air at this point.

There are a lot of people who are really hoping to see Deer Tick back at Bonnaroo this year, and to play a night time set.
Is there any possibility of this happening? Any information that you could share even if it is vague would be very helpful. I contacted Superfly and they do not respond.
