Caitlin Rose is my new favorite discovery. She was on tour with Hayes Carll (another Thursday Roo discovery) this fall and she blew me away. I could totally see her on Thursday.
Rin Tin Tiger-- I was in San Francisco for Outside Lands and I caught these guys busking out by the Powell Street BART Station downtown.... loved what I heard, they get some radio time out in SF on the underground local hour of the local stations. they play alot of cafe club shows in the bay area.
i'd say they are a nice blend of bob dylan and they might be giants. "new age" folk? i dont know what genre I'd classify it. but I'd love to see them at roo just to say that I saw these group busking the streets of SF and now they are playing roo!
People, check this out if you have time. Specifically the songs "Swimmer's Ear" "Kale" and "Champagne and Peaches"
You won't be disappointed!
yep love it
I'm glad you like them. I just feel the need to support the hell outta them because besides My Morning Jacket, they're the first band I've heard from my hometown that I just loved. I saw them play a covers set on Halloween of "Kid A". You'd be shocked at how well they pulled it off

Thanks for the love guys! If you know anyway for bands to get through to the people at 'roo or know anyone that does we'd love to be considered for the show this year. We really appreciate you listening

Have you all heard of Kids These Days? Not super new (Think their EP came out last spring/early summer) but just starting to get noticed. My buddy saw them in Chicago and said they put on an incredible show. I'd love to see them on the farm! I'd embed a video, but I'm not technologically capable in the least....here's a link to my favorite song by them though!

Edit: EP came out in December
They played Lollapalooza last year and I discovered them going through the artist list. I dig what they are going towards, but not sure if they are quite there yet. Just my opinion.
Wow Wow Wow....thanks for introducing me to The Vespers. I'm gonna be taking a crash course on all their music for the rest of the day! Love it!
They have their whole Music City Roots show up on youtube. They aren't the greatest musicians in the world, but their songwriting is amazing and they have great stage presence.
