Indie folk is my favorite genre of music, so naturally I'm pumped to see who'll be on the farm this year. Who are you hoping for?
I'd like:
Glen Hansard Damien Rice Josh Ritter Blind Pilot Of Monster and Men The Avett Brothers The Tallest Man On Earth Joe Pug Noah and the Whale Johnny Flynn
Will Johnson (Centro-matic, South San Gabriel), Jay Farrar (Son Volt, Gob Iron, Uncle Tupelo), Yim Yames (My Morning Jacket, Monsters of Folk), and Anders Parker (Varnaline, Gob Iron) play Woody?
Count me in!
EDIT: Sorry k2boarder36. You beat me to it.

Because I work on the computers for Acony records their label, I have not asked Lori Condon directly but she has told me in the past that they will usually play Bonnaroo when a new album drops and they switch the band up. The new one came out late last year, and it is back to Gillian Welch instead of Dave Rawlings Machine, so I think it is a pretty fair guess they will be there.
DRM tore it up with John Prine back in 2010 btw, at the end it was Dave, Gillian, John, half of OCMS and Kris Kristofferson doing Paradise.

I would prefer just Woody, but that is me. Also add Pete Seeger to the Folk artists I would really like to see show up. Actually there are a lot of old ones Joan Baez, and Joni Mitchell also come to mind.

If Woody was an option I'd be all over it. The 4 that are performing are just incredibly talented. Anders is my wow factor in that equation. He is just amazing.
I'm getting to see Buffy Saint-Marie in a few months and just giddy over that. I'd love to see her there as well.

The always incredible Josh Ritter (who I have seen ten times and counting and I would see him ten million more times) needs to play. I have traveled to multiple different states just to see him. He has only gotten better in the past few years.
He is one of the hardest working guys I know and I feel like Ritter and the Royal City Band in a tent...any time of day...would be outstanding.

Damn, I should have stuck around. I stayed until illegal smile, then went to check out a little weezer and the end of Jeff Beck.
I'm loving all of the Josh Ritter love. His Valentine's Day Brawl show was one of the best/most magical concerts that I've ever been to. It was incredible. I've never seen any performer match his apparent love of what he does. The man knows how to put on a show, and his music is DAMN good.
I sent an email to his booking agent today to see if he was going to be there, but so far no response.
I saw Steve Earle a couple of nights ago and he said that he would be touring with his band this summer and playing several festivals. Sounds like he might make a return to Bonnaroo.
Really hoping that the reasoning about Gillian/Dave being there is true.

I hope to God that he's there. How about we get his son again too?

Which Valentines Day Brawl did you go to? I went to the one in Philadelphia first and then NYC a few days later. Both were top notch.
My brother is a huge Josh Ritter fan and I've listened to him a bit and wouldn't mind seeing him. I'm really into the Avetts though so they are my #1 pick. I'm a relatively new fan of there's and have only seen them live once. I would also love to see Bonnie Prince Billy/Will Oldham. We've been fans of his for a long time but it's been awhile since we've seen him live.
Has Mason Jennings been to Roo? We saw him open for Jack Johnson years ago and really liked him as well.

If you even slightly dig Ritter's studio work, you will be floating in folky, rocking space when you see him in person. Ritter and the band are phenomenal, and always put on an exciting show with a shit ton of heart and passion. Kind of like Neil Young: one second you can't stop rocking out and tapping your foot, then the next song he's breaking your heart with some shiver-inducing ballad.
