Anyone going to Freaky Deaky festival in Chicago Halloween weekend? I won't be there all weekend but I'm going on Saturday with some friends. I'm really looking forward to Gesaffelstein and Big Gigantic, I don't know too much about the others for that day though. Not a huge fan of the rap on that day either unfortunately. One of my friends told me to listen to Bakermat, and I know who Benny Benassi is but I haven't really given him a listen. If you want to suggest any other names here's the lineup for Saturday -> freakydeakyhalloween.com/lineup
lol oh man, if NoD was only here to see you post this in his thread.

So do you have any suggestions from that lineup or nah? Not really helping me out broski.
While I'm here, has anyone ever been to Amsterdam Music Event? I'm going to Europe next week and while I'm not going to the actual Amsterdam Music Festival that's in the stadium and what not, I will be in town and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks for a fun time. The person I'm meeting has said that we'll just be going to some of the parties in town but we don't have any concrete plans.

My suggestion would be skip the festival because that lineup is garbage from top to bottom.
*Excluding Gesaffelstein, Flying Lotus, TOKiMONSTA, Will Clake, and Shiba San.
EDIT: Just saw there's a Day 3, so add Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Joris Voorn, and Justin Martin to the garbage exclusion list.
Got talked into it by some friends I haven't seen in a long time, and my girlfriend really wants to go and it'll be my first time seeing her in over a month. Not going isn't an option, but we'll make it fun. I like one song by Shiba San but that's all I know. I'll look into Will Clarke.
Looking at potential shows in the future, has anyone seen a Tycho DJ set? I love his albums, but I'm curious how fun that'd be in a DJ atmosphere. Also, I've read good things (probably here) about Modeselektor, do they put on a fun show? (I think that's a DJ set too)

-Listening to the Detroit Swindle Essential Mix lately, so great. -Getting some ok-ish shows coming up. Dr. Fresch got announced, but it's on a Thursday night. Not sure if g-house or bass house is really my thing. -Amped for phase one of the Movement lineup to come out, but sad that Bicep, DJ Koze, Ben UFO, Floating Points, KiNK, Jackmaster, Joy Orbison, nor Mano Le Tough will likely be there.
Modeselektor is fucking awesome live. Yes it's a two person DJ set
Cool, I may commit to the tickets then. It's between that and Tycho.
Are you based in Miami by chance? I saw both shows are coming to Miami venues soon. III Points is helping organize Modeselektor, so I'd go with that. Tycho plays good sets for Burning Man, but not sure how his regular DJ sets hold up.

Nope, both are going through Chicago in February. I'm there quite a bit.

Ah, very nice. I'll be in Chicago in May, and want to hit up the trifecta of Spybar, Primary, and Smart Bar. I saw a Flying Lotus DJ set at Spybar for a Lolla aftershow with @jonesjupiter and fell in love.

Ahh I was close to going to that aftershow but billybaroo was generous enough to give me a ticket to see Sturgill Simpson, he was playing right next to where I was staying so it was perfect. Then my friend who I went to Lolla with got sick so I couldn't even go as I had to make sure they were okay :/
I'm happy she's getting popular since I've seen her posts on a Toronto Rave Community, but her being labeled as the female Gesaffelstein is just criminal.
Miami Music Week has got some great looking shows coming up.
i feel ya. it feels like generate and liberate have been out forrrreverrrr. i guess that's what happens when you've been around for 10+ years and finally release your first album under your primary moniker. that being said, sunset at cafe mambo was the standout track for me, and i enjoyed mija - rescored, trubble, collider, and liam quite a bit. the rest of the album i'm kinda indifferent about since i've either heard it a bunch before or they just don't stand out to me.
someday when i have the funds i'd like to check out mmw, there are definitely some cool names in there that it'd be hard to see anywhere else.
