I don't think a Jack White add is out of the possibility.
From the sounds of it, a major name fell through so they have the cash available. It's less top heavy (after the headliners) than previous years, which makes me scratch my head. Also notable is that they already have the comedy headliner added whereas they normally announce that name later (Conan, Chris Rock). And it's Jack White, I'll be severely pissed if they don't do this.
Tiesto was an add in 2008 I believe, who has to cost a pretty penny I'd imagine (even if he only played a LN Tent).
I want to write a comedy sketch based on that comment. Sherlock Homes and Watson standing around a fridge investigating a spilled substance to determine if they should or should not cry about it. Comedic genius
PS I almost hope it was Neil that fell through because that would mean he had some intention to play festivals with CH and would give him a decent chance to play Glasto.
I think I owe someone a beer for Foster The People being so high on the lineup, cant remember who I made that bet with.
And the last artist addition I was actually excited to see was The Gossip in 2010, hopefully we get some good ones this year.
That was me, but I think I had FTP as ahead of the The Shins. I think I even made reference that I thought that FTP would be one spot ahead of the Shins. Kinda funny that they are listed consectively but flipped. So, I think I technically owe you a beer.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

I wonder how much ticket sales will impact additions? It seems to me that in years past, additions of decent names could lead to a spike in ticket sales if sales had been lagging. If the overwhelming demand is what actually crashed the ticket sales site this past Saturday and that sales are at an all time high, AC might decide to fill out the line-up with up and comers as opposed to bigger or mid tier names.
Personally, I am of the mind that we will get one or 2 adds in the 20-30 slots and then smaller acts. Thoughts?

I think it was overwhelming demand that crashed it but what means overwhelming. If 20k decide to buy right away thats 1/5 of a sell out but still enough people to crash a site, maybe in years passed there hasnt been as much of an immediate demand

I don't expect a fast sell out or non sell out to impact too much. I expect that most of the adds were already in talks with playing however because of scheduling they may have not been ready to commit or there may be contractual issues to work on. Based on what insider has said and the way the lineup is I belive there is a big name band for Sat. night they are still in talks with. A few adds I'd like to see is Younder Mountain, Weir, Green and Robinson Trio, If there is a big name add for Sat. I hope it is (dreaming big) The Rolling Stones or likely Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
I feel like the ticket-sales crash will actually have a positive impact on sales. People see that "so many" people (actually not that many in respects to the festivals capacity) were trying to buy tickets on the first on sale date, which could push many on-the-fencers to make a decision towards going.

Jack White Cage the Elephant (will help convince a friend) Yeasayer (although it will turn the LN's into even more of a clusterfuck) James Murphy Yonder Mountain String Band Drive-by Truckers Titus Andronicus
I'm making my first comeback since 2009 and I demand that Les Claypool be put on the schedule. Not Primus either, I want the man himself on the Which Stage with a great band. I want him on the super jam with Trey as well. BRING ME THE MAN THEY CALL OYSTERHEAD.
sleigh bells, santigold, and little dragon are opening for the chili peppers or their tour so hopefully that means sleigh bells and santigold are additions because little dragon is already on the lineup
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
I hope we get some additions from the San Miguel Primavera Sound Fest considering artists like Afrocubism, The Black Lips, Danny Brown, Laura Marling, SBTRKT, The War On D.rugs will be both there and Bonnaroo.

This has been non-stop around my place. This really needs to happen.

Does anyone remember when exactly the artist additions are usually announced? Hopefully this years additions will be more like they were in '10 than last year, since last year the adds were of pretty low caliber.
2012 shows: 3/23 - The Men 4/9 - Of Monsters & Men 4/21 - Bassnectar 5/2 - Shpongle 5/22 - Jack White 6/1 - tUnE-yArDs 6/7-6/10 - Bonnaroo 2012 6/18 - Destroyer 6/20 - The Tallest Man On Earth 6/23-6/24 - Governor's Ball
So what's an accurate number of additions we will get?
10? 15?
For main stages/tents but then there's also going to be a good amount of cafe acts and things like that. Figure however many artists they advertise (about 150) and subtract what we have now.

Yeah, but I was talking about non-cafe artists. Not more than 15 right?

Can't imagine there being a ton. We may only get a few main stage additions.

Last year was my first Bonnaroo and for some reason, like others I see on here, I expected something bigger from the additions. I was quite let down once I saw the additions last year. I really was not familiar with anyone on the list. However, I explored the bands a little and decided to check out Graveyard and Hanggai. As it turned out, those were two of my favorite sets of the entire weekend. So I guess don't get your hopes up unreasonably high and in the end you might be pleasantly surprised.
