Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I just received an email from one of our local radio stations, telling everyone to tune in on Wednesday, Feb. 6, to learn the lineup for this year's Bonnaroo. See their website: www.1061thecorner.com/Home/tabid/72/Default.aspx
To put this in some context. I live in Charlottesville, VA. MusicToday (whom I believe handles ticket sales) is located in the area. I'm presuming that someone told someone, and so on.
******************** [glow=red,2,300]UPDATE:[/glow] Legitimate news source for the lineup at 11 central time, Tues. Feb. 5/midnight east coast, Weds. Feb. 6: www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080204/TUNEIN/80204061/1005/ENTERTAINMENT This has been updated due to new info. From kristinwhittlesey "Hi, all. The Tennessean will be posting the lineup at 11 p.m. central time, not midnight as previously reported. We will also have photo galleries and videos from previous years' fests and all kinds of other goodies. Check www.tennessean.com at 11 p.m. sharp!" She's with The Tennessean, so this certainly bodes well! Thanks, Kristin!
Nashville, TN daily newspaper. In other words, the "real" newspaper for Nashville. Completely legit. Thought I'd update the initial post, for people popping to the first post in the thread. So far, the earliest I've seen for a decent source of news.
Also, from bigbrant19: "The Knoxville News Sentinel almost assuredly will have it at midnight eastern time, or a few minutes after. www.knoxnews.com " I agree. Seems like a good guess. And it's in the eastern time zone, instead of central like Nashville. Thanks, big!
From atl3103: "We might want to keep an eye out on the Manchester newspaper. Here is the link: www.manchestertimes.com/news/index.asp If I remember correctly, I think that they had the line-up early along with the Tennessean a couple years back. But it does not look like it is a very comprehensive newspaper." Thanks, atl3103!
From chrisv: "NME.COM will reveal a surprise headliner for the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival at midnight EST. www.nme.com/news/nme/34120" No word on whether they'll have the whole lineup at midnight EST. Hey, at least we should know a headliner by midnight, east coast time. A backup, if The Tennessean is running late. Thanks, chrisv!
Thanks, strumntheguitar! Roanoke is pretty cool as well.
Chicojuarz, I'm presuming that the main festival website will announce at about exactly the same time the station does. I doubt that the station has any pre-access to the list, or that they will announce anything early. They will probably just read off the list, as it becomes available online. If you are at a computer, next week, I'm sure you'll find out just as quickly (if not faster) by monitoring the main Bonnaroo site.

Let's just hope it's not another "99X non-announcement" But I've got a feeling this one is real. Karma when I can. ;D
its harder for me to refresh at work than to listen to the station.
Actually, knowing that the main website will probably be slammed, might do the same!
Really hope they aren't yanking us around. But the people who run that station are uber cool. I can't imagine they'd make promises they can't keep. Although they might have made one a bit prematurely for likings of SuperFly!

i do feel a bit more relaxed now that i have an actual date for the release - even if there's a chance they're wrong

I wrote the station...got this as a reply
Hi Chris,
Well, we get the official lineup details from Bonnaroo and Music Allies as soon as they are made public to the radio/media community. Apparently that will be sometime early morning on Wednesday 2/6. We are on their press release distribution list so I suspect they will make the announcement at 5am or 6am that day. We don’t know the exact time yet.
Are you an online listener in Nashville? That’s awesome!

The site took the date off.... it was there earlier and now it seems to be missing...
Don't know if anyone has noticed but The Corner changed the information on their website... maybe Bonnaroo knows we know and doesn't want anyone else to know. Instead of "listen feb. 6th..." the site now says, "listen mornings"
Bonnaroo Bowl
"Then listen to Mornings on the Corner on for the complete lineup for Roo '08. Get in the know first with your Official Bonnaroo Station, 106-1 the Corner."
notice it just says mornings on instead of on feb 6th...
