This whole day I thought it was the 6th and was really upset that the lineup hadn't come out yet, then i looked at it's the 5th! haha i'm dumb, but REALLY excited! did i read that it is supposed to be released at midnight??
Yup. Check the first post, first page of this thread, heatheroo. I'm trying to keep that updated with the earliest info release posted so far. The info is in the "Update" section of the post. So far, the only confirmed release tonight is by the Nashville Tennessean at midnight central time.
*********** Well, that was the case. See below or first post in this thread. We should know 1 headliner, midnight eastern time.
If I remember correctly, I think that they had the line-up early along with the Tennessean a couple years back. But it does not look like it is a very comprehensive newspaper.
I wonder if these papers already have the line-up and Superfly told them not to release them yet, or if Superfly is not going to give them the line-up until around 11:30 so they make sure there is not a line-up leak. Does anyone know how far in advance a paper needs its story to make the next days run?
I'll add that to the front of the thread, just in case. Thanks, atl3103! Oh, and not a clue what the deadline requirements are. Never worked for a daily, before. Only weeklies.
Oh, and from chrisv: "NME.COM will reveal a surprise headliner for the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival at midnight EST. www.nme.com/news/nme/34120" No word on whether they'll have the whole lineup at midnight EST. Hey, at least we should know a headliner by midnight, east coast time. Thanks, chrisv! Added to first post in thread.
And, last one before I signoff, an update on The Tennessean announcement! From kristinwhittlesey "Hi, all. The Tennessean will be posting the lineup at 11 p.m. central time, not midnight as previously reported. We will also have photo galleries and videos from previous years' fests and all kinds of other goodies. Check www.tennessean.com at 11 p.m. sharp!" She's saying she works on The Tennessean, so hey, even earlier announcement. Gotta love that! Thanks, Kristin!
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer

You know I'm all about the spirit of Bonnaroo but looking at the initial lineup, I'm not that impressed and have now become undecided if it's going to be worth shelling out $1200. Metallica?? Jack Johnson...again. I don't know guys, what do ya'll think??
I'm a little underwhelmed by the line-up. Seen all the big names a lot but, of course, I'm in.
Seen Metallica 3 times before. They put on a great show but not worth fighting 80k and eating so much dust. Will probably rest up for late night during that show.
I've seen Pearl Jam once and am more likely to go to that but...
Can't find any real big deals for late night. RR is cool but I've seen him so much and at late night before so...
I am kind of excited about finding some new bands I haven't heard and seeing a few that I have heard only a little. That's one of my favorite things about Roo, seeing new bands (or "new to me" bands)
Pearl Jam, Robert Randolph, Allman Brothers, Kanye (I probably would never buy a ticket for a just-Kanye show, but am excited that he'll be part of this), Susan Tedeshchi, Willie Nelson, OAR
Okay, so I could keep going. I really think that overall, this is a solid lineup.
Agree with that list. But I've seen them all more than once except ST and Knaye. I'm interested in seeing him too but, like you, wouldn't pay for just him.
I'll have to download some tunes from the 2nd tier bands i don't know and find some good ones.

I highly recommend Back Door Slam to everybody. Check them out at the Roo if you're gonna be there, you won't regret it.
The lead singer/guitarist is a young, but INCREDIBLY talented blues/rock musician and you're guaranteed to hear some Hendrix in his set. Here's a video of him covering Red House:

Has anybody heard Vampire Weekend? I have read alot about them in Rolling Stone, but haven't actually listened. I am so there though, it will be fun no matter what cause I just enjoy meeting all the cool people and seeing all those bands live. Live beats recorded any day.
I like Vampire Weekend, but I think they're getting hyped a little too much these days. My new project, since we finally have the lineup, is to visit the MySpace pages of the bands I'm not familiar with. Next comes the scheduling conflicts!
I guess this just isn't my year to go to festivals. First I wasn't impressed with Coachella, now Roo. Last year I went to both as well as Voodoo, and I loved every minute of them. I know festivals are about the "overall" experience, but I have to have at least ONE band that I'm crazy about seeing, and Coachella and Roo are lacking in that department for me. I guess my last resort is now that NJ festival put on my the Coachella guys.
