In a nutshell, ticketing service went extremely slow loading everything, timed a lot of people out, gave a lot of people a lot of error messages for 2 and a half hours, and then Bonnaroo shut it down, saying an hour ago that they're going to let everyone know on Monday when they're reopening it.

Good lord, I am sure the board didn't go completely apepoo or anything over that.
I am too drunk right now I will check it out in the morning. I am assuming there was some wailing and gnashing of teeth? I wonder if Sherry will get in on that action.
If they have any big surprises they were saving for the additions (read: Jack White)...
OMG, today's ticket-buying fiasco was 100x worse than what I went thru yesterday trying to buy Jack White tickets. If I'd had to buy a 'Roo ticket today, I'd be in jail tonight for having choked the first person I could get my hands on.
Ticket Purchasing is now #1 on my "Things I Dread Most" list, replacing root canals. At least with the latter, it's over fairly quickly and you're anesthetized the whole time...

I have to credit my wife with helping my friends and I secure our VIP tics for this year. I was getting PRETTY frustrated with all the error messages, and she took over - probably for fear I was going to break our laptop - and patiently endured all the error messages and time-running-out crap in order to buy our tics. Wife of the year.
Today was terrible. The good news is that I landed a tier 3 ticket after Bonnaroo had claimed they were sold out. The bad news is that none of my friends were able to get tickets and are really ticked off by the whole thing. I even started helping them, telling them I would just put any other tickets I could get on a different credit card; but I had no luck before Bonnaroo shut things down.
I feel like Bonnaroo should book another big name act to compensate everyone for this mess. I think Neil Young or Jack White would do the trick in making people happy.

Im so pissed that everyone is saying they bought Tier 3 tickets even though it said sold out. I just took the festival's own word for it that Tier 3 was sold out and I chose Tier 4.

When I clicked it, they didn't say sold out. Then I went in the waiting queue screen, then got kicked out of that screen, hit the back button, clicked the "buy tickets" again, clicked "tier 3"... waiting queue screen again.... and then it let me enter my info and credit card stuff, $270 later, I got ma ticket.

Exact same thing happened to me.
It's funny, last year I bought my ticket in May, so it took me a total of about two minutes for the entire process. It was the last tier, so with fees it was $282. This year I spent about two hours on the website, got tickets at the second last price level, and yet overall I saved a total of $3 compared to last year cause of the slight increase in price. Kind of funny if you think about it. And by funny I mean annoying.

Bonnaroo is gonna issue an apology and that will probably be all, which severely blows. People spent hours trying to access tickets on their servers and, in this day and age, their servers should have been able to handle this without too much fuss. The LEAST they should do is have ONE DAY of guaranteed Tier 4 tix. I am pretty sure this is NOT GONNA HAPPEN however.
I got through after a few tries but I felt horrible for those who did not. The more of these pages I read, the more I realized just how messed up today's situation was. I think a minor few may decide not to go now after all of this, but most will still be back up here at it again when they post the selling times. Bonnaroo should reward this dedication, but that would mean less money and we ALL know the all mighty dollar wins out most of the time. This indeed is a black eye on my favorite festival. Hopefully, they do something about it.
If it does not work on the relaunch of the ticket sales, The Pondo Army will be ready to straighten things out (For sure gonna need Fishing Maniac on this one, along with my navigator Lono).

*sigh*
Just out of curiosity, I live in Chattanooga also and decided to pass on the Jack White show just because I didn't know if I would be recovered from my knee surgery by March 10 to handle going to a show like that. What was it like trying to get tickets? I'm assuming it sold out?

When I got to the ticket selection screen I tried to choose tier 3 even though I knew it was sold out. It told me that there were not enough tickets left at that price to complete the transaction. I then choose tier 4 and go my tickets. So I'm not sure how some people got tier 3 after me. The difference in price doesn't really matter to me though. Hopefully a few people on tighter budgets were able to score some tier 3 and save a few nickels.

I would imagine it is because some people had tier 3 tickets "reserved" as they were attempting to purchase them. But then the timer ran out, those people were booted, and the tier 3 tickets were released back into the pool.
