So the earplug talk brought me in here. I've been wanting to get a professionally molded pair for my own ears for ages. And I found these: www.earplugstore.com/westone-style-49.html and they come in glitter. So there. But Of course the cost is insane... though knowing that I'll be going to shows for years, and they'll get their wear is what makes it worth it to me.
Also had a coworker talking about how they're getting professionally molded earplugs for his kid, at his kid's ear doc. So then I was thinking, maybe I can just go to an ear doc and get some of these doozies made up.

Let us know what you find out, I would be interested to see if I can get them from a doctor as well! Surely us music lovers have a need for this level of ear protection.

Seriously, f*ck you so hard Goldenvoice for always waiting till 1-2 days before the festival to release the schedule! WHY!? I don't f*cking understand it!

But at the same time, I'm dreading it SO bad!
I'm actually a fan of this. One of my least favorite things about Bonnaroo is when the release the schedule over a month ahead of time, then people do nothing but b*tch about conflicts and who should have gotten what spot and other endlessly boring and inane things. This way, I basically get the schedule, then get on a plane.
I agree. And I like the idea of having to make the decision of which act to see in the final moments. I mean, even after a month of agonizing over Roo's schedule, I still don't make most of my decisions until crunch time anyway.
So my friends bailed on me and looks like I'm heading out to Coachella solo. Anyone willing to hook me up with a ride to the festival and a spot to camp? My friends sold their car camping pass. I'm willing to pay all your gas roundtrip from LA and will throw you some cash for letting me crash on your site. I've been to Coachella before and really hope I won't have to sell my ticket!
I have tickets for weekend 2, flying into LAX from NY.

I had to sell my weekend one ticket.
My boss kinda "backed me into a corner" and called me out on going both weekends "do you really need to go BOTH weekends?". and then she was like "wouldnt you rather use your vacation time for the one in TN?" In her corporate speak, that translates to: "pick between two coachellas or one bonnaroo." then she tells me that one of the lady's in my department has to be in court on the Friday and Monday surrounding weekend one, so she was like "we could really use you that weekend".
It was a hard decision to make, but its like-- im out of money, i need to go to Roo (Weird al, DUH!), and I feel that this was the right thing to do.
Sorry guys for bailing, for those that were counting on me. I hope you will find it your heart to understand
Really trying to make this my first Coachella. Can't afford it, but the lineup is just too insane to pass up. Like 70 bands without even researching, including my #1 next to see and many of my all time favorite acts. This will be my 10th Roo and have done countless other festivals (ACL, Vegoose, Electric Zoo, Ultra, Virgin, Woodstock 99, Floydfest, Lolla, etc), need the polo fields under my belt. I missed last time my cousins band played Coachella, I cannot miss them playing again this year!
I have a ticket for Weekend 2, but no camping pass or plane ticket yet. None of my friends can go, so I will be solo. I much prefer the idea of camping onsite (eliminates the responsibility of getting back to a bed), but don't know if there are festivities that make it worthwhile (music doesn't go til dawn like at Roo). Not sure the value in renting a car by myself and getting a camping pass vs. just paying for an actual room somewheres. Especially with trying to fly with camping equipment.
Anybody have any helpful ideas? More than willing to make a substantial financial contribution (not to mention continuous party and good vibes contributions), just need a plan. I feel like I would regret selling this ticket forever, leaving it to fate to decide.

I look forward to your PM or responses....
Who is your cousin's band?
And have you checked the Coachella boards?
I wish you the best of luck!
As far as flying with camping equipment, you have to pack like you are backpacking. Small tent, trim sleeping bag, and minimal clothing/extras. It's not easy but definitely doable, I do it for roo every year. Without a car and a camping pass though, I'd say it would be worth checking out your hotel options, as it would make life a lot easier for you for not too much more money (especially if you can split with someone else). I prefer hoteling for Coachella. For roo it's silly, but for Coachella it makes a lot of sense since you have plenty of time to get a good night's sleep after the music is over for the night, and there are great shuttles and so many options nearby.
It's an extra DJ stage that's outdoors with cool artsy stuff...but really it's just the place people go to get sprayed down with water by scantily clad ladies.

LOL. It's what at least 80% of the inhabitants are concerned about! I do it too. It feels good! I turn the other way to not get blasted in the face though (shut up Phil).
