Well some of us are getting geared up for our first fest of the summer. I am starting this week to just throw my stuff in my living room so I don't forget anything. This is sort of an easy trip. I have to pack for three weeks when I go to Waka and the Roo. It seems like Christmas to me this year. I should have put this is the Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa thread eh ... cr****
If you don't mind me asking, what's your day job? Might need to reconsider my professional choices....
Vegoose 2006 was so fun! You'll have a great time at Coachella
I have heard of them but haven't heard them yet! I'll be sure to make a point to do so before I embark next week.
Can't wait to hear what you think of the fest!
I bet we have crossed paths b4. I went to all of the Vegooses (sp), the Roo 05-06 and last year, Waka ? (most of them). I'll have to buy you a lemonade at Coachella if you are going WK2. Most of my buds are going WK1 but to complain about that to me is like whining you got a free car but you have to pay the taxes. I don't really care which week. cr****
I'll be there weekend 1, but I appreciate the gesture
You can get weekend one for face on Stubhub, and Weekend 2 for 100$ under face, with plenty of tickets out there.
It makes me wonder if this a way GV is trying to combat the scalping issues. Quietly put tickets on sale again for people who would otherwise buy from a scalper.

Which I could give you a cool answer but just hard work. I've done a lot but it all boiled down to just accepting my parents and myself didn't have a lot of money (mostly military, them) and a work ethic from the Midwest. I liked my major job (IT) because I dig technology but I can't say it was fun so to speak. My decision came down almost a year ago now: I could make as much money being retired and drawing my pension, as I could just working (sounds stupid I know, but think Stockton with a good plan). Now to answer your question: I don't work anywhere and I love it. I can finally "do what I want" with little or no consequences. It's really sort of surreal but I think I can get used to it I've been very lucky to grow up in the years I did. The birth of R&R, good times, and now just loving it .... cr****
If I lived in the area I'd gladly drop $100 for a weekend 2 pass just to see everyone I'm going to end up missing on Saturday.
If I had somewhere to lay my head I might go just for Saturday & Sunday.
My problem is my GF can't just take off like me. She has obligations I don't have. My sis has a house sort of close by and I have friends near Coachella but I guess I can't be everywhere all the time eh. I bet there will be some difference between WK 1 and WK 2. It will be curious how it all pans out ... I heard we might get Bowie, and Prince in the campground, but that's just a rumor

Wild Nothing just announced a show at my favorite venue on the 15th...Will I have it in me to stay up late? I can just nap once I get home and should be OK, right?
Already seeing DIIV at a super small place near my apartment on the 16th. Can't wait!

Pretty sure a promotional Playstation sale happened around the same time last year.

Doesn't mean it isn't a way to combat scalpers. But yeah, it could be anything.
Well I'm a big fan of LIttle Green Car's new album, but I'm an even bigger fan of Foals. Though I will have the opportunity to see Foals a total of 3 times this summer.

Foals would be good Monday night, but I'm sure I'll be seeing them at the fest. I've heard good things about The Casbah where Wild Nothings will be. I would love to see Palma Violets at Humphrey's if I didn't have to pay the Franz Ferdinand price tag. That will be my one free night to roam outside the fest. I may just try and catch some local entertainment somewhere.
Yeah that price tag hurts a little. Especially when trying not to spend too much money before I get to Coachella/after spending too much money at Coachella.
