I haven't really been following Coachella news since I know I won't be attending.. But wasn't the lineup supposed to come out like two weeks ago? Doesn't it usually? Is the consensus that it's being held up because The Stones are a no go and that wasn't originally the case?

I just wish festivals could come out and say like a month in advance "We'll announce it on this day" but I guess that sort of hurts them if they are finalizing negotiations on things.

Some do but defiantly not the majors. I'd rather them not give me a date than say "Lineup on such and such date" and then miss it.

It probably is tough for the big ones to do this - and there's some sense of building anticipation when no one knows exactly. But Firefly, for example, said they'd release in mid-February back in early December - I know, what does mid-February mean?

Well yea....the goal would be not to miss it lol. That causes panic and chaos.
