I think Ginus already touched on this, but regarding the EDM acts during headliners, I think it is unlikely we get big name EDM artists playing during the headliners. As much as I would really, really like this to happen, I don't think it will. I think you are looking at Bassnectar in the Kaskade slot, up against TAB or something like that, maybe Steve Aoki in a similar position. I think the very best we could hope for is someone like Porter Robinson, but I think even he is too big. You have to look at past opposing acts for reference, acts like STS9 or Sphongle, all good stuff, but these are HOB NOLA type bands, they play small venues.
Bassnectar or Aoki during Kings of Leon would be so awesome though. Just don't think its going to happen.
We're staying at the Island Sunrise, which I guess is also pretty close. It's on the opposite side of the fest from some of the other condos, from maps I've seen. I'm hoping it's a money spot.
We stayed in Island Sunrise 565 in 2011. You'll have a great time. We're in Island Shores this year; pretty much the same building, I don't really understand the difference.

Why isn't this thread stickie'd at the top now?
I guess we should get the 3rd headliner soon. RHCP was announced the day after the initial lineup came out last year.
I bet we get Primus added with the regular lineup additions next month. Once BUKU is over we'll prob get some crossover additions and prob Gary Clark Jr. too.

Did that last year, enjoyed being able to stumble home from the FloraBama. Park and ride buses got a lot better in 2012.
Thank goodness. It was a 2 hour ordeal in 2011.
The 2011 park and ride at Publix was a clusterquack. In 2012, going from Publix to Hangout was a breeze. There were still waits for getting back, but it got better each night.

WOW!! I'm not looking for a ride, a ticket, or a condo. I'm an accountant, not a prostitute.

<3ed the regular and VIP sets of Gary Clark Jr. last year. And we dug Primus in 2011. I certainly hope you're right!

That's what I heard on the old Hangout forum (Why did they take that down? I was top poster! ). I'm glad to know it improved in 2012. Let's hope they keep it up for folks in 2013.
Doesn't it make sense that the 3rd headliner is someone with no currently announced dates?...i'm ruling out mum sons, further and anyone else already listed on a lineup....blur etc.

because a moderator is not attending nor anyone held in high regard by a moderator has requested it. As much as this thread gets posted in there's no need for a sticky anyway.

I dunno, I could see them selling advance tix before the rest of the additions. I doubt there will be many additions. The other headliner and the other chevy stage closer could be it. I think they didn't bother with Primus because why would they be left off when other Buku crossovers weren't (Best Coast, Kendrick Lamar, and Public Enemy)?

At least KoL isn't green day!
Green Day > KOL
KOL circa 2004 > Green Day
at least Green Day sold out with grace.
I hate the hate KoL gets on this forum. Only By The Night was a fantastic album, even if it was a departure from their earlier work...but they were already moving that direction with Because of the Times. Tell me "Closer", "Be Somebody", "Manhattan", and "Cold Desert" are bad songs.

Surprise, your favorite festival lineup of all time is the one Bonnaroo that featured Tool.
He's clearly a subpar Tool fan. Lolla 2009 was bettah.
Repeat what you just said I was stoned by what I was just told
Can anyone else vouch for him or atleast this info and when can we expect to have this confirmed I'm just so skeptical I said this like a month ago and was called a dumb SOB so you can understand

Ted, plz. Outkast confirmz. I will not admit to the degree of truth to it until you put that tongue back in your mouth.
None of us have a f'n clue who the third headliner will be. Nor do we know who the third chevy stage closer will be. Get back to that hetty panic stream. I'm going to sleep.

On the local, Mobile, AL news this evening, the anchor reporting on the festival said, "A 3rd headliner and additional acts are to be announced sometime in the next 10 days." I believe it was NBC 15, for you fellow locals.
WKRG (CBS) 5 simply said "next week".
This tells me they already have the name, they just are waiting for that band to make their official tour announcement.

Cool. Good info. Next week could be big if we get the Roo lineup and find out the other headliner for Hangout.
Announcing the third headliner after tickets go on sale seems kind of dumb, but I guess this is why I'm a sports writer and not a music festival producer
What if the 3rd headliner was Lady Gaga. Who just cancelled her entire tour.
Would she ever play a festival like Hangout?
Not a chance based on the three years of data we have for this fest. They'd have to charge more for tickets to get a pop superstar like her, Beyonce, or Justin Timberlake. I could see it happening 5 years from now if the fest continues to do well enough for them to comfortably increase ticket prices to about $350 for a GA ticket. Of course that would piss off nearly half of the normal attendees and they'd be all like "hangout is OVER."
