I definitely thought of Cee-Lo. Hell, I went to go see him until the Foos showed for the first hour of his set to play cover songs. Then I remembered that he sits next to Adam Levine on The Voice. Hip Hop cred went straight out the door with that move.
They also had Cee-Lo Green in 2011.... (he was late and only got to do a few songs, i believe)
Which led to one of the finest moments of the fest that year, when Foo Fighters came out to play a mini set of just covers in lieu of Cee-Lo. This was before I realized Dave Grohl was the ultimate badass of contemporary rock n roll. That performance and the regular performance of the Foo Fighters were the surprise peak live music experiences of my year.

The Roots were added a couple weeks before the festival, I think.
I've been consistently disappointed with the lack of hip hop at Hangout, but I don't think they ever made a conscious decision to avoid black artists. That's just an unfortunate coincidence. Yelawolf made sense last year because he was playing a ton of festivals and he's from Alabama. Whoever books Mac Miller was pretty aggressive last year, because he ended up at Roo, too. And Matisyahu and Slightly Stoopid are popular on the jam festival circuit, so I wouldn't even consider those hip hop bookings.
Gary Clark Jr, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, John Legend, Julian Marley, and Mavis Staples have all performed at Hangout, among others.

That's why I wasn't ever contemplating any kind of racism with that question, because of how many black musicians have played this fest over the years. It's more than likely just a case of coincidence, like you said, ProblemDog.
I didn't get that at all. What made you feel like that?
Agreed. I thought he was awesome at Music Midtown.
He was cool as shiz at DeLuna fest despite the problem with the entire stage losing sound. "I guess we were rocking too hard." When I think of d-bag frontmen, Dave Grohl is probably the last person that would come to mind.

Is Jim James solo a possibility? He just announced his tour dates and it skips the southeast almost all together. The tour is listed to end in Seattle on 5/15....
92 ZEW posted another Facebook message saying stayed tuned for news and "Hear Hangout news and lineup first" from them. No mention of when.
No possible way with hangouts lips so tight that they would let a radio station leek the news before they do, unless the radio has paid them a pretty penny and I doubt that. From what y'all are saying the ZEW just does this for a boost in ratings.
Yes I absolutely think Yim is a possibility. I see him there way before MMJ

I think Jim James will probably be there. He's right in their wheelhouse, MMJ played 2 years ago, and he will still be on tour since he's confirmed for Roo.
The chatter from ZEW does probably mean that the announcement is coming soon, but they aren't going to be dropping hints or leaks between songs.

Bear with me everyone, I'm a message board newbie.
FWIW: we have been messing with that line up URL thingy from last year. So far a few we have gotten to auto correct are Yeah yeah yeahs, The Wombats, and Gaslight Anthem. We tried a couple that are definitely rule outs (Alt-J) and they didn't correct.
Somewhat unrelated question: any chance anyone has any insider info on a new shuttle rout down Fort Morgan road this year? That would be icing on the cake.

Add Dweezil Zappa to the rumored list. But there's no way we'd get the lineup this week if that happened. He plays Pensacola Friday night. It would have to be the next week.

I would flip the quack out if they got added.
Damn, I was there too. Got there about 8:45 and was able to walk right up to the rail. Didn't stay up there, though. Moggio was quacking fire. Very fun show.
