TAB is the logical jammer...moe is not remotely big enough...Further a possibility. Someone ruled out Muse previously on this board. Prince's new song is awesome....let's dream while we can. I think Beck is a poss as well.

I don't think it would be a huge deal. Sure, if Roo was the only festival to have Macca this year it would be a huge get. But, there are a million music festivals nowadays, its nearly impossible to have an exclusive, original lineup.

Yeah. McCartney has played what, ONE U.S. festival? Him playing Bonnaroo was/is/will be a huge deal. If he's playing more, it lessens that a little bit.
Think about it this way - it was cool that Radiohead played last year, right? What if Bonnaroo was their only festival appearance of the year? Would seem a little bit bigger, no?

For a guy like Macca, I think it's a big deal.
I think its a very big deal for Hangout.
I just don't think its neccesarily a huge deal for Bonnaroo to not be the only festival with McCartney. The years of exclusive headliners are probably behind us, for the most part.

I definitely agree. Having McCartney for a one-off festival appearance would be huge. But I doubt AC went into negotiations thinking it would be his only festival appearance. I'm sure that came up at some point.
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

Having Paul at your festival, no matter how many he is playing, is huge. He is one of the greatest living legends of our time. He could bring anyone up there. Paul wants to colab with you, you colab with him.
This is so exciting, does anyone know anything else??

You're using logic and trying to talk things out. That doesn't go well in this thread. But, of course, you are correct.

I stated that a few pages back before everydayperson's "confirmation" that I've heard that Macca will be there. However, I am unsure of my friend's source (because he wouldn't tell me), so like I said a while back: I refuse to believe it until I see it on the lineup. Two different sources generating this hype though now, so it's worthy of speculation IMO. Just as much as MumSons, Muse, and Petty were after the black friday sale.

Ahh...it makes sense now. The whole MumSons, Muse and Petty talk was all around the same time and similar to my info. Just using some logic, it seems the talk was about targets and not necessarily a booking. I'll be interested to see if any of those three even end up happening. Petty was the only one I believed to be happening, but with the Macca "news", I seriously don't even know anymore. These next few weeks are killing me.
Is VIP worth it? I do believe that everything I've read about Hangout's VIP sounds worth it.
It's the absolute best VIP experience you will ever have. Free alcohol, clean bathrooms, groove area is ridiculous and there are private sets that only VIP can see (Gary Clark Jr's VIP set was the absolute highlight of the fest last year IMO), and there's a quacking pool that you can chill in near the main stage. The uber VIP doesn't seem worth it to me though, but I'm not really interested in chilling in a hot tub in the summer at an elevated position over everybody and get massages for that much extra money. Of course we got hooked up with VIP tix for cheap by our condo last year and it was a complete accident that our broke donkeys got to experience that.

Petty seemed to be the least likely to me because there is no evidence of him touring this summer. MumSons is the closest thing to a lock of a headliner that we have. Caddyshaq's source is good as it was the same one that made confirmz the previous two years (although I don't recall if there is evidence of that on inforoo). Muse makes perfect sense to take the RHCP/Foo Fighters/rock spot (or Green Day but I find them less likely because of the Voodoodoo incident last year). I can't really think of any others besides The Killers that are touring and they are already booked on the 18th and 19th up north.
It's 3 sources now if you count surf's client, but that's also a "heard" instead of a "know."
What if it's Sound City Players with an appearance by McCartney? More or less plausible?
Oh yeah, forgot about 'the client.' haha. Sound City Players would be over the top. Who knows though...nothing really to go on by their plausibility other than Coachella didn't get 'em, but who knows if they even tried with that undercard.

To clarify: There are 3 different areas where you get free alcohol. Both of the main stages have beer (best choice was dos equis), but only the chevy stage had those margaritas in a pouch thingies. The Grove has a full bar, but there are guards at both the exits that will not allow you to take cocktails out of the grove. The bartenders were cool as quack last year though. There were a couple that would fill up my water bottle with booze and it's much easier to sneak a capped water bottle out of there than an open cup.

Damn. Yeah, VIP's too rich for my blood under normal circumstances, but we had the same thing happen last year. When I went to pick up my condo keys, they were selling VIP passes for $300. Only reason we didn't take it is because we couldn't get much money on the street for our tickets we'd already bought.
