I think it will sell out either way. But that 3rd headliner (assuming Mumford and WSP are the others) has to be pretty important.
Totally disagree.
I know folks on this board really dislike Mumford, but there aren't many acts bigger than them these days. They're certainly a bigger draw than Jack and probably RHCP. Maybe even Dave. Plus, with all the Grammy pub, they've got a ton of momentum.
Plus, when the beach is your BACKUP plan, it's not too hard to get up for this fest. It'll sell out fast just like last year.
Flame away, but is it possible Widespread could be there and not be a headliner? Maybe give them a 2 set spot closing the 2nd stage like SCI last year.

I agree that Mumford is a big deal right now. And I personally have no problem with them. They wouldn't be my first choice, but I enjoyed them the one time I saw them at Bonnaroo 2011. I just mean the 3rd headliner was important to me as far as my personal perception of the fest.

WSP could be filling the three late night sets in the new venue in OB. Exactly where they should always play, 3 miles down the road from the actual concert

Maybe it's a business decision or maybe it's just a natural trend, but it wouldn't surprise me if they started alternating years between top heavy and undercard heavy.

Are you referring to the wharf? The place that brought panic down there and blew gulf shores' economy wide open which made them realize there's a market for it which lea to hangout fest three years later?

Do not underestimate how much BP had to do with making Hangout Fest what it is today.

If widespread blew their economy open, its time to pray for a better economy

I'd rather have Furthur than WSP or TAB, but regardless of who it is...that would be awesome if they were pushed to play the other stage on saturday with two sets like SCI last year.

I think a combo of both panic bringing lots of money, and then that concert for the gulf by buffett. They realized the potential of what they had, and have done a great job in execution.
I still haven't seen Furthur... so that would be great. Real shame that Trey is touring with TAB all the way to summer. One of these years I'd love to get Phish as a headliner (even if their festival shows usually aren't up to par). I have my tickets... I have my house... I just need this lineup so that I can start to get really excited.
If Macca is out Tom Hetty would be the perfect headliner.
Great no frills rock n roll show that will have everyone moving, and I would imagine the vast majority of people that would be at Hangout haven't seen Tom Hetty before.
Tom Hetty sitting in with WSP for Travellin' Light........would be very Hetty.
It would be even hettier if traveling light was a Tom petty song.
Yea no shitt, it's a J.J Cale song, Alex Trebek. Tom Hetty covered it at most of his Deep South shows last year.
Was awesome catching that one out of the blue at Jazz Fest last year.

Panic is doing Wanee, Mountain Jam, All Good (most likely), Jazz Fest and Waka
The Jazz Fest date keeps me from thinking that they are possible- are there not proximity clauses that keep headliners from playing both?? I guess it is panic, and it doesn't really matter- people go where panic goes.
But does HO really want a band (that tours every summer) whos already locked in for 4 summer festivals? I understand Jack and RHCP did this last year- but neither tour as much as Panic does.

They didn't tour last summer and they're slowing down on touring a lot.
If they do book them, it's probably because they had to rather than wanted to as their first choice (this year, anyway).TAB is a great choice, seeing as this fest is much bigger than the first year they played.
I was thinking about about the beach boys or the eagles?

The Beach Boys were discussed earlier- they are back to their pre-reunion lineup and apparently it is garbage....Eagles, no no no no no no I can't see that happening and I hope not!
I am not counting Panic out, I would be happy with Panic I love jam bands- but Furthur on the beach would be my first choice (but what does that matter)
EDIT:: Pablo, if you're lurking....tell us to "go to sleep" tonight or not?

I think most of us are in agreement that the dead in some shape in the sand would be nice/ for most better than panic. HO could most likely get away with putting them 4th with a sci slot. Here's to hoping :Dwe should know soon
You know what would be even worse than pre-reunion Beach Boys or The Eagles? Jack Johnson or Jimmy Buffett. And they make perfect sense for this fest. I will devote many hours to flaming the shiiiit out of their facebook page with multiple throwaway accounts if either are on the lineup.

Haha sadly, I can totally see Buffett with an afternoon slot- luckily I don't think either are headliner-relevent anymore.

So they make perfect sense for the fest...but they'd be horrible? Makes tons of sense.

If they were in their rightful place---the early afternoon---I wouldn't care. Anything past that and hell, I'll join you.

It is because they are both bad. They fit the beach vibe, but they're bad...
